This seems to be a strange exclusion from the game... I would like to be able to look through my previous race data to see starting/finishing position, fastest lap, vehicle used and SR/DR for that race. I'd like to have my memory jogged to the good races where I narrowly missed out on a win, or even remember the wins themselves and also see progression against similar races from the past. Anyone know of a good reason for this not being included?

Edit: unless I'm missing it somewhere?

We absolutely should have that.. Did the previous GT's have any stats like that?
I don't know as I didn't play previous GT's online. Seems like such an obvious thing to be included though. I have 17 wins, but I can only remember the ones in the past week or two... before that  no chance. But I'd like to.

I'm a sucker for statistics so from day 1 I just made my own chart and logged my races :). Doesn't take much time but gives me joy :D

I agree some race history would be a great addition, It would be nice also if they had included an achievement counter for podium finishes.
To me the game just counts a win and a race finish it doesn't take the hard work of a top 3 finish in to account at all.
Looking at my stats I'm at,
378 races
45 wins.
To me I think anything better than a 1 in 10 victory count isn't that bad.
(Even though one of my friends has around 500 races and 300 wins. But I'm sure this person has deliberately kept his DR low to do this.)

So I have 300 plus races where I could of finished anywhere between 2nd or 20th with no way of knowing. Now I'm not gonna loose any sleep over this but it would be nice to see how many podium finishes I have taken as I'm sure it's close to 200 and it would be a nice to see and it would make me feel a whole lot better about my stats.

Exactly.. even some races finishing in 4th or 5th is an achievement, it would be good to remember the races you were up against a tough field of higher rated drivers, started in 14th and worked your way to 5th...

Edit: I have 17 wins in 371 races  so yeah, 45 in 378 looks pretty good to me!

I have 4 wins in 432, so you all are racing Gods to me...lol.
Guffaluff, I love the spreadsheet. I wish I would have done that from the start. Well done and awesome stats!

We definitely need more tools that support improvement of our skills in Sport mode. Race history seems like a no-brainer if I was going to create a modern online racing game. I remember even way back in the late 90s, Unreal Tournament had a huge stats site where you could see all kinds of data from each match and trends over time. It's 2018 and the only graph of our progress is miles driven. I don't even know who would care about that feature. We have to resort to saving a replay in order to get access to any race data, and even then we're limited by some arbitrary disk space limit.

This is the kind of minimum level of stats I would have expected from a racing game like this:

-- Race History
* view individual race stats (lap times, sector chart, race results, penalty data) as raw data or graphs
* view aggregate performance metrics over time
* share individual race data online
-- Circuit History
* view lap and per-sector performance over time for individual circuit
* filter circuit's performance history by individual car or race settings
* show your best sectors over all races for a circuit (maybe with top-down visualization of car path)

We could get more in-depth, but that seems like the bare minimum that should've been there at launch. Additionally, I'd love to have a practice mode where I could attack a particular sector or even particular turn over and over so that I can try new approaches. This would be a big QoL improvement over having to do the whole lap again and again. I don't care about what real drivers have to do, use the videogame medium to make our time usage more efficient. I'd also love to be able to download ghosts of other players. I'd also like to be able to download a ghost from any of our races, but that might be size-prohibitive for them.
