We definitely need more tools that support improvement of our skills in Sport mode. Race history seems like a no-brainer if I was going to create a modern online racing game. I remember even way back in the late 90s, Unreal Tournament had a huge stats site where you could see all kinds of data from each match and trends over time. It's 2018 and the only graph of our progress is miles driven. I don't even know who would care about that feature. We have to resort to saving a replay in order to get access to any race data, and even then we're limited by some arbitrary disk space limit.
This is the kind of minimum level of stats I would have expected from a racing game like this:
-- Race History
* view individual race stats (lap times, sector chart, race results, penalty data) as raw data or graphs
* view aggregate performance metrics over time
* share individual race data online
-- Circuit History
* view lap and per-sector performance over time for individual circuit
* filter circuit's performance history by individual car or race settings
* show your best sectors over all races for a circuit (maybe with top-down visualization of car path)
We could get more in-depth, but that seems like the bare minimum that should've been there at launch. Additionally, I'd love to have a practice mode where I could attack a particular sector or even particular turn over and over so that I can try new approaches. This would be a big QoL improvement over having to do the whole lap again and again. I don't care about what real drivers have to do, use the videogame medium to make our time usage more efficient. I'd also love to be able to download ghosts of other players. I'd also like to be able to download a ghost from any of our races, but that might be size-prohibitive for them.
