Super Sports Sedan Shootout
Each company is aloud only one car in each category. In the event a company has two cars that fit into the same category the most expensive one will be chosen. Only cars found in the NEW car showroom will be used unless otherwise noted. I define a sedan as a car with 4 doors and a conventional trunk. No wagons or hatches in this comparo. Cars will be grouped by price. Any drive train is allowed. The cars will be judged with the cars in there group, and then against all of the cars in the test. Each car will be award points for the place it finishes in the test. The lower the points the better. (1st place = 1 point). There are 5 tests that count for points. Price, Power/Weight, 0-400m, 0-1000m, Top Speed, 3 Laps around Trial Mountain (B-Spec level 3). My comments have no influence on the final score. I will then pick my winner, the winner may not have the best score.

THE CARS
$35,001 - $70,000
1st) 04 FPV GT - 394hp - 1825kg - 11pts
I have never even seen/heard/raced against/driven this car. It nearly was not even in the test, i forgot Australia even had a showroom lol. WOW! This car is impressive in a straight line The GT dethroned the Audi of each of the acceleration tests winning the 1000m test by 0.4! The 400m test was much closer, the GT only won by .002! On the road course the GT beats the S4 by about .015.
2nd) 04 Holden Commodore SS - 333hp - 1658kg - 18pts
Audi level acceleration and you save $15,000 that im sure you could use to gain 0.2 int he 400m test. Needs to lose a little weight and possibly some suspension adjustments and it will beet the Audi around the road course.
2nd) 03 Audi S4 - 346 -1660kg - 18pts
The S4 shows its weight in the acceleration tests. Disappointing under achiever. Barely outruns the Lexus but has over 50 more HP and 1.0 better power/weight.
3rd) 00 Lexus GS300 Vertex Edition - 290hp - 1680kg - 24pts
Feels really heavy though performs surprisingly well...or is the S4 doing bad?
4th) 03 Opel Vectra 3.2 V6 - 211hp - 1510kg - 28pts
Just as boring as the other two cheap cars (Bora and C5) but this one seems to be trying harder. Though it out accelerate the Bora, it loses on the road course.
5th) 03 Citroen C5 V6 Exclusive -210hp - 1540kg - 33pts
Probably could have been left out of the sports sedan test.
Major wheel hop in 1st gear kills any straight line performance.
6th) 01 VW Bora 4Motion - 204hp - 1540kg - 36pts
The low HP numbers and high weight make this car a slug. Even the C5 out accelerates. Though it held its own on the road course against the Vectra that out powers it and is lighter. Thank you AWD.
MY PICK
This is a tough choice the 3 cheap cars all performed the same..bad. If you needed to pick one i would suggest the Bora, its 4wd will take to high power better then the others FF.
The lexus performed well but doesnt stand out in any particular place, though it is nearly on par with the audi. The Audi was the under achiever of the group. Its the most expensive and has the 2nd highest power rating. Its downfall is its weight. The Holden is solid car. Runs right up there e with the Audi. The GT is a surprise. Out runs the audi in every test. Any of the top three are solid cars. Though the WRX and EVO out run each car in this group....
