Above $70,001

Now for the main event. The heavy hitters. Your going to have to reach deep in your pocket to grab one of these cars. I was dissapointed with the middle class being out perfomred by the WRX and Evo and if anything in this group is beat they desearve to be sent to the car crusher. The Cheapest car (the Jag) is nearly 3x as much as the Rally Car Twins. Some of you may notice two BMW’s. I know i wrote in the rules only one car per company but the M3 was to expensive for the middle class and it didnt feel right to have a sports sedan test with out an M3. So here it goes.

‘05 BMW M5 - 508hp -1715kg
WOW! that about sums it all up right there. Dont waist yout time/money on the M3 or any of the others for that matter.

‘02 Mercedes E 55 AMG - 476hp - 1910kg
The Benz is BIG. The E 55’s mass kills its 400m test, but once she gets rolling look out. After posting a 400m run 0.2 slower then the Audi, the E 55 comes back in the 1000m and beats the RS6 but 0.1 and nearly takes out the Jag also. The biggest surprise the how the big Benz gets around the road course a full second faster then the audi and 0.7 fast then the jag that weight 100kg less!

‘02 Jaguar S-Type R - 405hp - 1800kg
The car is fast. It out runs the WRX and tho the Evo beats it int he 400m the Jag catches up by the 1000m mark. Impressive for an 1800kg car.

‘03 BMW M3 CSL - 360hp - 1385kg
The M3 doesnt really fit into a group. It was to expensive to be n the middle class but doesnt seem right sitting in a line up with the rest of these cars. The little Bimmer posts the worst accelartion times but then blows away the Benz by over a second on the road course

‘02 Audi RS6 - 453hp - 1840kg
The RS6 has sticking power off the line thanks to the AWD. And above 5500rpm the twins do there job wonderfuly. This car pulled hard until about 180 then it ran out of breath. Keep the revs high though cause the mid-range is quite slugish.

The compition in this group was closer then any of ther others. Anything in this group will pretty much be a good car for you. The M3 gets the job done on the track with the 2nd best time but the M5 is just amazing. It does everything right. Just get the M5 and enjoy it.

CONCLUTION- what car to get.
Of all the cars in the test I would get either the WRX or the STI. for the cost of the M5 you can make either of those cars out run the Big Bimmer. Nothing in the middle class really showed me anything impressive.

Funnily enough, it still doesn't feel right to do a sports SEDAN test with a coupe...

But then, when you make the rules, we shouldn't complain.

ya know i didnt even realize my mistake until i read your reply. thanks for catching that. I think alot of ppl would have been looking for the M3 in a test like this though so im going to over look the missing rear doors. but good catch.

Dude, you better plug your computer in, you only have 53% power remaining.

lol, great write up. I think I better get a new M5, mine has irreversible mods.

thanks spyker, the M5 was pretty impressive, that and the m3 where the only two cars i didnt sell after i finished the test lol partly because they cost over 100k and partly because they are awsome cars.
