Now i used the search feature, and searched the fourms but couldnt find a thread on this. Here is my question.

I have competed in the Sports Truck Race with the Chevy SSR but cant win. I know you cant race the Chevy SS cause you win it. So what truck is best to use.

I'm pretty sure there just was one...
I can't seem to find it though*, so I'll give you the jist of it.
This is the breakdown by number of recommendations:
1) Toyota X-runner: Arguments included 'way lighter then those other big lumps' and 'handles like whoopass'.
2) Dodge Ram: Arguments for this were centered around the A-spec point glitch surrounding it (you almost always get 200). I used it myself, lightly tuned, and I think it's a pretty good idea.
3) Ford F150: One person suggested this, mostly because it's cheap.

*edit: Ah, I see Robot got two while I was typing. Good work there :)

I used a Dodge Ram with a supercharger. I also added the Race Suspension, not so much because it needed it, but because I wantted to lower it as much as possible.

i used the ram witht he n/a 3 with everything including rollcage. its pretty badass stock, just lower it a bit add about 2-3 tcs and no asm; then let it rip

I used the Standard RAM. As long as the one you win isn't on the front row of the grid, you should be able to win the race.

And you don't need all that stuff on it, either.

I did it with the Ram stock + supercharger. I added the Race suspension later just to lower it.

Yep. ASM is an absolute killer though, I forgot to turn it off in the first race and it was crippling. If you usually race with ASM, turn it off, the difference (especially with the trucks) is remarkable.

fo sho, and i was responding to dukes btw :), but i had to tune my ram a bit just for fun, and it freaking hauls ass in a lot of the races i put it in, with 692hp, it just cleans the competition away

OK, I went back through my notes. Ram 1500 with supercharger, Sport intake/exhaust, race suspension, and a set of used Rallye wheels from one of the winged cars. 490 hp, S2 (stock sports) tires. Margins of victory (MOV) at the three races:

Fuji: +4.980" over the Silverado SS
Laguna: +5.514" over the Silverado SS
Seattle: +7.778" over the Silverado SS

I'm sure I could have done it without the Sports breathing kit; I tried that first and just left it on when I added the blower. I probably could have done it without the suspension upgrades, too; I only put that on because I wanted to see how the truck look slammed like a race truck, but it didn't go down that far. I ran this race early on, when I was only 3% or 4% done at the most.

Actually, the Ram was fun to drive, particularly at Laguna. I had a blast.

um, ur trippin!??!?!?! its fun to drive and it gives u aspec points like a mofo, ur just a mood killer, u come into threads and u kill it for the rest of us who are trying to have fun. ur negativity is not needed, go home

Well, thanks for the help. I am going to go into Arcade mode, Try out all the trucks on the race tracks in the Sports Truck Race and see witch one i like most. Right now i am leaning tword the Ford SVT Lighting and the Dodge Ram. I can afford any one of the trucks so if i get one i dont like, it wont be a wast of money. I got the money by winning a 2 hour 20 min. 200 mile race at New York in the Endurance Hall.

well, gl and have fun. those 2 cars u have chosen as ur final 2 are great cars. if u have anymore questions about the settings, post in this thread (to keep from havin settings all over the place)
