Spotted an unknown supercar/exotic - help me find out what it is!?

Ok I spotted a car today that was coming at me when I pulled out of the petrol station. The era was somewhere between the mid 90's and early 2000's and it was silver.

First off the car was low and wide, I'm talking lambo low, maybe even lower. So somewhere between 1000mm - 1150mm probably. Wide like a lambo too, around 2m wide.

I only got a quick glimpse of the front but I think it had two or three circular headlights on either side kind of Zonda size but set into the body, maybe kind of like an Ascari A10?

The side had big intake vents along the doors, with either one or two big vertical fins breaking it up where the intake ended.. I guess like a Saleen S7 but less fins and more.. styled?

The side also had sticking up air intakes behind the side windows like a countach but I think they were a bit less boxy.. still more square than the rest of the car.

The back along the top was very lambo like, with the countach like intake vents having countach like slats behind said vents. The engine cover had diablo like vents and the small rear window was exactly like a countach/diablo.

The rear from the tail lights down though was very different. The tail lights were like a late 90's integra:

Below that were vents and I could see what I think was the back of the diff through the middle vent? I didn't see any exhaust pipes.

I followed the car for 5 mins and the driver didn't give it much go, but the sound I could hear was nice but hard to tell since it was a windy day having my windows down made it hard to hear. I think it could have been a V12 though, if not then it was a high revving short stroke V8/V6 since it didn't have that fat V8 muscle car rumble or anything like that.

Kind of a long shot I know, but does anyone have a clue. I've tried searching the net over and over for lesser knows supercars but I can't find anything. Could it be a unique kit car? Any feedback welcome!

Nope was newer looking than that and the front end and side intakes completely different, very much mid-late 90's in design. The back was a bit sharper than the rest of the car and lambo like but there were nice curves along the sides. Thanks anyway.

If it was a kit car it was damn low.. would have to be a custom chassis job. It really wasn't bad looking unlike most other lesser known exotics or kit cars. I'll keep looking for now.

Would've been nice but it wasn't an XJ220. Was a later design than that, a bit more sharp but the curves over the front and rear wheels were similar, just all the vents etc where sharper.

The front was kind of like this from the little I saw of it:
sensorgtr_3.jpg

Though that could be way off since I only saw the front for a few seconds.

From the back the sides kind of looked like this but the vents had an extra fin at the opening and were a bit lower (the back wasn't much like this though):

Plus there was an obvious vent behind the side window which stuck up countach style and had exhaust vents on the back of it also like the countach but they looked different.

Having it drive towars me it was low and wide. So I'm looking for cars mid 90's to early 2000's that are very low, very wide and mid engine. So far it's looking like it must be a kit car. Probably the best unique design kit car I've seen.

I found that in my searching and it's the most possible considering it's Australian, but it still didn't look the same unless I have a horrible memory. Rear lights are kind of similar, but like an updated version. Everything else is pretty off.... no rear spoiler, more vents on the back, side vents looked different (the extra fin was verticle, not horizontal slats). It also has no visible exhaust, vents down the bottom of the back, and I'm damn sure the front end was very different. The mirrors were sort of like that if that means anything.

Also pretty sure it had a lower and wider look than that. I know cars look lower and wider in real life, but it was definitely wider than 1830mm which is stated for the Bolwell. Probably lower than the 1175mm, too.

It looked like a diablo when coming down the street, had that extreme almost impossible for there to be a person in the cabin low and wide type look.

Sounds a lot like a Cizeta-Moroder V16T - they have a pair of pop-up lights either side, along with the running lights and are largely Diabloish in dimensions and looks, with square tail-lights, silly intakes with vertical fins and an almost indescribable noise.

I saw one in the UK years ago - amusingly in purple (no connection).

Unfortunately not that either it's noticeably newer than that and there are many other differences. I've gone through countless super car databases and found nothing close, so I've concluded that it must be a unique kit car and now that I didn't follow the owner and ask him I will never know what it is. :(

Wow some very cool car's that I've never heard of put up here guys, thanks!

None of these though. I guess the most unique thing on the car was the tail lights as most super cars have round tail lights.

MTX Tatra is the closest so far, cept for the pop up head lights, side vent size/arrangement and back tail lights as well as the back/engine cover section. It was also a little newer looking than that. Kind of somewhere dead inbetween the F355 and 360 if we use Ferrari as a styling guide.

So yes, similar to this but newer looking tail lights, just vents with no exhaust showing (bigger, wider and with mesh too), and a lamborghini style engine cover with small window instead of the big one sloping down over the engine. Also there were air intakes beside/behind the side rear windows and the body was a little rounder all up, not a whole lot though.

From this view, think bigger side vent, with a verticle slat either in the vent like the McLaren MP4-12C

McLaren-MP4-12C-1.jpg

Or a similar thing but with the slat on the outside of the vent for pure styling. Front had an array of small round headlights (two or 3 per side), non-popup. Believe it or not, the car also looked noticably wider and lower... yes I know cars look lower and wider in real life, but this thing was at least as low and wide as a diablo/countach (both of which I've seen).

Thanks for the help so far, I'm not expecting to find it anymore, but at least you guys have introduced me to some cars that I couldn't even find in my searching.

Lotec Sirius?

Front headlights are similar but I dont think they were that styled and modern looking. I didn't get a good look at the front though so that's kind of iffy.

Side vents are pretty similar in some ways though! Rest is way off. Especially the cabin and everything in the back except the tail lights which are damn close!

The semi-professional car identifier (seriously - you should see the ultrarare cars he can identify from two pixels) who frequents my other site suggests:

Bugatti EB110 (with the caveat that it's not that poorly known to be difficult to spot)
Harrier LR9
Noble Ascari FGT
Lotec Sirius

And adds that you might find this thread (advise caution: forums not covered by GTP's AUP) useful.

Wasn't a Zender Fact 4 was it?

I suppose the back lights don't really match your description though

zender_fact%204-bt00039_54911.jpg

Or from leftfield an Orca C113

http://hotwheels.myblog.it/tag/c113

The back end of the Zender is similar to how it looked driving behind it besides the spoilers and tail lights. Same sort of thing down the bottom where there was a big vent (or separated into 3?) and I could see the diff but no exhaust. The rest of the Zender is too boxy.

Orca C113, I see how the tail lights fit the description, but not exactly there, the rest of it is quite a bit more over the top than the car I saw.

Vector M12, nope again. No rear spoiler (or only a small one kind of built in to the body, my memory is fading :() Rest of the car is pretty off too.

It's not any of those unfortunately but the front of the Noble Ascari FGT has be thinking of the front of the car I saw. Unfortunately too much else is off.

One thing I remember, the car had a lambo kind of cabin. Some cars like the Koenigsegg CCX and Ferrari enzo have the small centred cabin with the big very rounded windscreen that wraps around a lot. From what I remember this was more lambo styled where it's more to the width of the car.

Anyhow I'm looking through that forgotten supercar thread, very interesting - even if I don't find the car I'm looking for!👍 Thanks

From the description it sounds like Alan Jones' AJF1 supercar (which you can find more discussion on in this thread), however as the only AJF1 is red it is probably a Delanda Demon kit car, which the AJF1 is based on.

Here's a picture of the Demon (you can find a picture of the AJF1 in the thread I've linked to previously):
