SR Points Calculation

Does anyone know the ratio for losing or gaining SR points? As in, how many green up arrows neutralise one orange down arrow?

In some races it seems that just 1 orange down arrow in a race results in a white (neutral) SR at the end of the race. Whereas in others you can get two or 3 and end with blue.

What i have seen yesterday is, that you get for a clean race with 4 laps you will receive 4 points. In a race where i touched the frontman very soft, and of course this was the only mistake, i received only one. In another race, where i get kicked out from behind and touched the frontman soft, i received 0.

So in general it depends on: How many laps, if you drive alone/in group, how hard are the crashes... I think there isn't any ratio but there is a more complex algorithm behind...

So a clean 4 lap race is just 4 points? That seems a bit stingy!

So you think that it's more complex than, for example, 1 orange sector = 5 green?

And you think it matters how close you are to others in the race?

I drove in front of the pack. It seems that you receive for this in every round +1 SR. If you drive touchless in a crowd, it would be a lot more then, as bonus. The nearer you are by other cars, the more you will get a bonus, yes.

1 orange sector = 5 green, i think it's not that simple. I think you will loose more points when you crash in your frontman on you own mistake, a liitle less when your frontman is involved by a own mistake, or you get kicked from behind. And there is a difference too if you touch on a straight the car left/right from you or do a heavy steering to kick him out...

I think the above is on the right track, although I don't know exactly how it is calculated.

I had a great record on the Dragon Trail Audi TT daily a while ago, pole position and pulling away easily, only got minor SR bump per race. Did another race yesterday where I crashed on lap 1, dropped to 14th. Battled cleanly back up to 2nd and my SR went up by 7 points

Yep, that massive boost on SR is related to the time you spend in the crowd.

Yesterday on Monza most I ever got was +4, either driving completely alone or having a tight battle in close proximity. There seems to be no further bonus for driving in a pack. It could help get back to the maximum after an SR down, I have also gotten +3 after getting punted to 13 in T1, receiving a 5 sec yellow flag penalty and climbing back up from 13 to 2.

Most I've gotten on a clean daily C race was +13. Daily C is the place to be to get SR up.

Least I've gotten on Monza yesterday, -24, after repeated punts into cars in front of me resulting in getting a time penalty. Hitting a car in a way that you receive a time penalty seems to be punished hardest, the game doesn't care if you get hit from behind into another car. Another race I was first punted into a shortcut at T1 yet saw now penalty for that (the game does sometimes recognize when a short cut is not your fault), and a 2nd incident where I hit a lagging 1st place that suddenly starting braking way early for no reason and got a 10 sec penalty while he survived it fine. Result -14 for those 2 incidents.

Most of the time though just getting hit in T1 negated any possible gains and a neutral rating was all I got. I never got any time penalties from short cuts, always stayed on the road. However when the hit at T1 was hard enough I didn't get penalized for it and could still end with a +4.

Yeah I have had that before.. on Interlagos a guy rammed me on T1, I braked and tried to turn but couldn't make it back on the track and ended up effectively cutting straight across but didn't get the time penalty I expected. If only this level of intelligence could be applied to other incidents

I once set a lap record by a mile because of this, I didn't even attempt to get back on, just drove flat through it after being hit off. That one turn in particular is very generous when you get punted into it, cut it normally though and it's a penalty. This does not work at some other places though, you still get a penalty when punted there, it's a bit random but it does show this feature exists in the software somewhere.

Yeah I've seen that, get pushed to the outside of a corner, spun around, and get a 14 sec penalty. Also getting punted across a reset barrier still resets you way back. (Unless it's Monza, then it resets you forward!)
