PSN?!? What PSN?!?
Hey GTPlaneteer's, i've been thinking and talking with co-workers and friends discussing what the better divisions are in the NFL today, the 2009-2010 season. was rather easy for me to pick and as usual i'm wanting to know and get the opinion of others. my two picks are the NFC East and AFC East. now here's the why's...

AFC East.
Hand's down most improved division in the AFC in my opinion as well as the most competitive. You have T.O. and the Bills, Brady's back with the Pat's and we all know how much of a mastermind of a coach Belicheck is, Tony Sprano and Bill Parcels revamped Dolphins are contenders and that Wildcat offense is no pussycat, the the new look Jets, sure no more Favre but add a Rex Ryan over from Baltimore and a young gunner like Mark Sanchez and your in good standings to be in good standings come years end.

NFC East.
Clearly the best division in the NFL period! where do you begin really? the New York Giants, great team though the receiver and tight-end core could be better seeing that they lost Jeremy Shockey, Amani Toomer and Plaxico Burress. Washington Redskins, i must say they must be the underdog of the division but they are no sleeper by far with an electric defense that can hold their own and a high rolling offense once they get the ball moving. how about them Cowboys, great great team consistent contenders for the number one or two spot in the division year in and out, now if Romo can manage his PPG number, 'picks-per-game' i see more W's insight. then we have the Philly Eagles, another great team usually were the number one seed in the division in the Pre-Giants & Manning days. i see good things for the Eagles this year with the addition of both the Wildcat offense and Michael Vick, who'd think those would go together...:ouch:, too soon right?

So there you have it, now what do you think are the best or let's say better two divisions. and no it doesn't have to be one AFC and one NFC that's just how it fell for me.

First of all, there's so much parity in the league today that I don't think there's really a right answer.

NFC East... Good, but I don't think I'd call them the best division. Actually, I think they're pretty even with the NFC North. Giants are a top five team for sure, but I wouldn't call the Cowboys or Eagles one. Washington isn't even close and has major, major problems. When your own fans boo you after a win, that's rough.

AFC East - most improved? One team is "most improved" - the Jets. The Bills look better this year too. But the Pats and the Dolphins certainly don't fit that category and both teams seem off their game right now. Anyway, in my opinion the jury's still out on the Jets. They looked great this weekend, but it's been a weird year so far for the Patriots. I think we need to see another week to really gauge where these two teams are at. Dolphins, well, you saw what they were all about last night: they have talent and Pennington is a smart QB, but they couldn't find a way to win last night when the game was in their hands. They dropped the ball (literally) and are now 0-2.

AFC North houses two top teams in the Ravens and the Steelers, but also two rough teams. Cincy seems to be improving quickly, but still has a lot to prove before I call them a contender.

NFC South also has two top teams in the Saints and the Falcons, but is marred by the Panthers and the Bucs. A lot like the AFC North in that respect.

So who's the best? Who knows? If I had to pick one from each conference, I'd say AFC North and NFC South.

Also, it's only week two, so this could all be irrelevant in a month.

im not going off of week 2, im looking at pretty much the off and pre season. and yes the AFC East has been improved. Tony Sprano and Parcells gave that lack lucter 1-15 was 'Phins some sort of winning record last year, im not sure of the record. the Pat's they imporved in a way with getting Brady back because Cassel was no all star and KC will find out soon enough, Jets ofcourse they've gotten s 1st pick right in years, and the Bills get improvement points as well they have T.O. and the core players they have always had so yes i feel the AFC East is the most improved.

Now idk how old you are or how much football you watch and seen lately but the NFC East is alwaysed being called the 'top', 'the best', 'hardest to win' division in the NFL and when you look at it yea i'd think it is and im not going into detail again seeing that i did already. you say NFC South ok but they have 2 playoff contenders Falcons and Saints, the Bucs arent contenders and who's the other team in the NFC south... Panthers WildCard or 7-9 team at best. the NFC East has 4 playoff contenders, Philly, Giants 1 and 2 or 2 and 1, Cowboys and Redskins are Wildcard. Cowboys because they may have a bad season and fall behind the 1 and 2 seed, though they are usually right there with NYG and PHI, but if they don't and still manage a record over .500 WildCard it is. and the 'Skins are just that WildCard. i've been a fan since young but i don't see them beating out the other 3 teams to take number one seed. AFC North is Pittsburgh Steelers all day, WildCard Ravens, and who cars what the Browns and Bengals do? they compete for worse in the division every year if the Ravens don't perform poorly and fall behind. there's not much to get excited over there. and i cant call the Ravens a top team in the NFL or even the AFC, they're to inconsistent if it weren't for the D they'd be along the lines of the Lions or such. year after year the Ravens had makeshift QB's i was so happy to see Joe Flacco come in and perform. remember Kyle Boller i was routing for him his rookie year but... bust. his best play was that punt a few years back when Dave Zastidul had a bloody nose and couldn't come in and punt, talk about a manly man huh. Chris Redman, who?, the late Steve McNair was and is the best QB to wear a Ravens jersey EVER, though he wasn't on the roster in his prime years, Kordell Stewart, another good NFL QB the Ravens got their hands on late, i'm not going to go back as far as Elvis Grbac and Trent Dilfer, because they'd be 3rd stringers now at best if they where active on todays Ravens squad. good feedback though, i don't expect too much attention here as its a racing game forum, but thanks anyways glad to see there are football fans on-line.

Right now it's the AFC East and either the NFC East or South.

We'll see what happens with the AFC East this year since last year the Bills went 6-0 before burning out. Could happen with the Jets too, but they're looking solid. If the Dolphins can improve interior coverage and secondary tackling, it would make the AFC East even more solid.

I agree I'm waiting to see what happens in the AFC East this year. The Dolphins aren't looking good at all so far and the Jets under Rex Ryan are doing great and managed to knock off the Pats! We'll see what happens with Owens and the Bills and Brady, Belicheck and the Patriots. NFC East i feel is stronger than South. Panthers aren't a better team than the Redskins nor Tampa Bay and you could say the 'Skins are the weakest team in the NFC but not necessarily the worse in the league, in fact I'd rate 'em in the top half of the NFL teams.

The Jets were already a damn good team before Ryan showed up. They only started sucking last year because Jenkins was out.

To say the Dolphins haven't looked good at all means you haven't been watching the Dolphins at all. I feel bad that Pennington is done, but we'll see what happens now with Henne when he gets his first true, prepared start. If Ted Ginn would catch balls that hit his hands, the Fins would be a winning team right now. Same goes for whether the safeties want to decide to tackle people.

Yea I know the Phins are without Pennington and no I haven't seen to much of their games I'm usualy tuned into NFC games. But the Jets seem like a better team now and the QB position is secure for a while might I say with Sanchez.

I think currently there isn't really a top division in either conference. It seems like every division has 1 or 2 good teams and the others just fall flat.

AFC North: This division could actually be the best in the AFC based on the records. Sure Pittsburgh(1-2) hasn't had a good start but they are bound to turn it around. Add in the unsurprising Ravens(3-0) and surprising Bengals (2-1) this could be the best season for the AFC North in a while. Currently the only bad looking team is the perennial basement team in the Browns(0-3) who can't seem to figure out what there problem is.

AFC East: Currently only the Jets(3-0) and Patriots(2-1) appear to be contenders. Even than the Jets are relying on a rookie QB and new coach, this leads to uncertainty about how consistent they will be as the season goes on. The Pat's also have some worry with injury problems with one of their best WR's and Brady's knee is looking good for now, however only time will tell. As for the other two teams, both should be doing better but both just seem to be playing below the caliber of their players. The Bills(1-2) should have a better record, although it seems the players have made stupid on the field dissisions that have cost them at least one game directly. The Dolphins(0-3) basically built themselves around the Wildcat which could be a bad thing since it seems defenses have figured it out.

AFC South: This division is basically the Colts(3-0) to lose. The Titans(0-3) should be battling for this division but for some reason can't figure out what went wrong from last year. The Texans(1-2) should be better than their record but it seems every year a new weak spot comes up and ruins any chance they have. Now for the Jaguars(1-2), they won't make it far with their aging, average talent team.

AFC West: This division will wind up like it has the last couple years, a battle between the Broncos(3-0) and the Chargers (2-1). Even than both of those teams seem to have questions about whether or not they can continue. The Broncos have a new coach and a new QB, only time will tell how this will work. The Chargers also have questions about whether or not LT can still put up good numbers. Now onto the other teams, the Raiders(1-2) are currently rebuilding, which means they will have a new coach in 2011 and again in 2014. As for the Chiefs,(0-3) they are currently rebuilding which means they will have a couple seasons of being uncompetitive.

Since that took forever to write I plan on doing the NFC tomorrow.

Let me know what you think.

Yea see thats just it with the NFC East. Every dividsion has its two front running team, but what division like the NFC East has depth all the way through the division. Redskins again calling them the weakest performers in the division but they can wipe a lot of teams off the bored. The G'Men are a great team, Philly and Andy Reid is a great combo and team year in and out, Cowboys, how bout them Cowboys! I put them next to the Redskins but better, they do have more consistency then the 'Skins. So I'm waiting to see your NFC spread, I'm not big on the lack luster AFC only the only teams to watch in the AFC are the Pats and Steelers, if another AFC gets to the bowl I'll watch them for that one game and the very next year its back to Pats. Steelers, and the NFC.
