I know everyone is starting to do this V8SC thing, but I found the perfect V8SC match up in GT5. The race will be held at the Autumn Ring circuit this Friday, March 16th, 2012 with the room opening at 10:00 pm EST Time.

The Ford Falcon XR8 Vs. the Camaro LM race car.

Regulations:
Ford XR8 650 HP 1350 KG
Chevy Camaro LM 650 HP 1354 KG

I was testing at Autumn Ring, and the times were:

Ford XR8: 1:10.994
Camaro LM: 1:10.845

That's pretty close. I am testing currently to make them more even. I hope there is more interest to have a fun, challenging V8SC race!

What sort of distance will you be running?

I just picked up an XR8 in the UCD and would love to race it.

What tires? I'm VERY interested but I don't do races unless tires are restricted to racing medium at the very least. I've been looking for people who want to race v8 supercars

I must admit, I don't watch V8 racinng, but the XR8 is fantastic! Drives about 100 times better than I would've thought, very managable oversteer, very fun too, and if you're not being a spanner, it'll just work through all the corners, there was a seasonal event on the night course, and it was one of the few cars I could win with (it was also in the typical opponents list, and the car that was 1st before I overtook it with my one).

If you're doing RH+ count me in, maybe even SS, I think the RX compounds would be most realistic though. I couldn't possibly imagine anything less than SH, (CX would be silly for this car imo).

I think because in RL, RH is what would be used as the minimum, on hot days it would be the best choice, and on the colder ones RS, and then RM in between, Australia has a very varied climate, so yeah RH would be good (I think that's stock anyway isn't it?).

*Checks car to be sure* Yes just as I thought, when you buy the car, it comes stock with Racing Hard tires, so there makes little sense putting anything weaker on them anyway, as it would be unrealistic, softer tires though might make this machine even better (or unnoticable, idk).
