Hi, Im starting a Ebay account to hustle for some cash money, has anyone got a account on Ebay and could some people give me some tips on how to sell and staying organised?

Buy some stuff first to build up some positive feedback(5-10 things should give you a good start), than sell stuff.

As far as selling tips, that really depends on what you are selling exactly.

I have only sold one thing and it was a TV I won and it was local pick up and was 60% cheaper than what was in stores so I made money either way.

My advise would be sell products that are value for money, good priced postage(none of this add postage in price and then list free postage), use a good delivery method(i have seen many sellers get neg feedback because of a slow delivery time(even if they cant control it)), best thing to do is to have the product boxed and make sure the item is protected, then write the address on the label and sent as soon as payment is made.

A good selling page with correct information, you can do this by going to the product site(eg samsung.com for a PC monitor with all info, specs and some reviews or feedback for that item listed in the description page).

Best way to make a description page is by HTML, use programs like frontpage to help you code it or a text editor like context.

Also, when you charge for shipping, make sure its reasonable. Unless you were to put 99 cents on buy it now but the full price as the shipping cost. :sly:

EDIT: Also beware with the new policy with Paypal, they will put your account on temporary hold for a couple of weeks/months or until they know when you have a good amount of positive feedbacks.

So yeah when you ship an item. Update the item that has been sold with "mark as shipped" so the payment can be released as soon as possible. It is recommended that you get the delivery confirmation/tracking number as well. Update all these stuff on your Paypal account and Ebay account.

I don't know if it's just me, but it seems what's more important for eBay sellers is their feedback rating and customer satisfaction rather than what's even being sold... as soon as you receive negative feedbacks, your account no longer looks too legit.

My $0.02 on eBay.

I was just about to comment on this. Maybe it's not "all" about the rep, but it is pretty close. You must treat each other with respect, and be honest.

Couple other advice would be to communicate, and be prompt.

I have 600+ feedback, and 100% positive rating(couple of neutrals in there somewhere). With all the crazies in our society, I consider it a miracle!

P.S. Some good tips in here. 👍

P.P.S. I just realized that you are in Australia. I'd avoid international shipping, if I were you. Customs tax can be hard or tricky to figure out, especially in execution.

This.

Good sellers are always responding to inquiries and issues really quickly. So basically, don't have a life and keep on checking your inbox like every 5 minutes on your phone or computer

Just be aware that eBay and paypal, take massive cuts of your total.
when you do send items, make sure you get proof of postage and always let the buyer know the item is on the way.
