Hi,

I think its time to get a steering wheel and pedals. Can any of you advise me on which might be worth getting? Based on support, feel, quality.. All advice welcome

Thanks for the help

What kind of budget are you working with? There's not usually many options to choose from within a particular price range so that's going to be the primary factor.

Assuming you are getting an entry level wheel, I would look at what kind of options you have for upgrades down the road- unless you get up in the $500+ range, the pedals will usually be pretty cheaply made compared to the wheel. If you get a wheel with the option to upgrade to a better pedal set, that will save you money down the road even if the initial cost of the wheel is a bit more.

£500-£600 max
You also have to factor in what you're mounting the wheel to.
If you have a desk, that can work - but some people like to have a rig setup that puts them in more of a driving position.

I'm doing a budget setup right now, buying a used logitech g27 ($150) and a used wheel stand pro (around $200) these are in Canadian dollars though.

I've owned a Logitech g25 for a couple of years until the pedals started to get an intermittent problem where that throttle or brake would stay on by about 5% even though they were fully released.
So I bought a second hand thrustmaster t500 for about £250 on eBay and got lucky with lack of bidders (4 or 5 years ago) and it was a lot better and made the Logitech feel like a toy in comparison.
I have had no issues with 1000s of hours use on this unit so can't complain and can recommend BUT and its a big but many people have had issues with thrustmaster products in recent times.
So if you get a good one you ok but if not you could be in for a rough time as reviews have said there customer service is poor.
It's all about budget really try and get the best wheel for your budget.
I want to upgrade to a direct drive wheel but a fanatec set will cost over £800 and it's hard for me to justify this.
You can get the logitech g29 for just over £200 on Amazon ATM and i think that's quite cheep for what you get as many users rate that wheel as a good bit of kit.
Hope this helps and I hope I haven't jinxed my luck by saying no issues with my t500.
I have mine attached to a wheelstand pro v2, picked it up second hand on eBay for £45 delivered.
So my t500 and stand cost me less than £300 and with the time spent on it it cost me pennies per hour.:D

I use a CSL Elite with the load cell brake upgrade.
First things first ATM, the wheel is not fully supported within the game. It is coming, we just don't know when. As for now, we operate in "purple mode". We ride the setting of a g29.
The ability to make adjustments is still there.
It's a great piece of kit ♡ the g29 is a solid kit toss in a drive hub and you can buy upgraded/ different manufacturer pedals.

The wheel and pedals
I got lucky in buying mine during black Friday
It's amazing !

Notes on T300, google T300 problems first before buying

internal power supply vs external in G29 / T500 /T-GT
very rough initialization ( the plastic stopper will break in time )

I recently got the T300 RS GT with the slightly better pedals, and an Omega Racing stand.

Both look excellent and have played brilliantly in the 2 months I've had them. The game is 10x better with a wheel even if speed isnt always that much better, the enjoyment factor makes it worthwhile

I got T500 and based on my own experience I can recommend it to anyone. You should find a nice price for it. I bought a returned product (with warranty) for 300 euros. Also bought a slightly used Playseat Evolution for 250e so that's 550e for the whole rig. Cheap :)
