hey guys, i've had grand turismo 3 for a while now, going to be picking up grand turismo 4 in a bit, also was looking at some of the logitech steering wheels out, I was wondering if anyone knows if the logitech G25 wheel is compatible with grand turismo 3, and 4?? as well as the momo wheel from logitech.

this is the g25:

thanks in advance.

Look in the wheels subforum. But the Momo is definitely NOT compatible with GT4. If you can afford it, get the G25.

I made a mistake with the topic title, don't know whats up with that, lol.

but thanks! I'd really like to get that G25 wheel, was checking it out today in future shop, it looks amazing, maybe I can ask for it for christmas, hehe :P

I don't know for sure that the G25 is compatible with GT3 (though I believe it is). I had a Momo which I sold when I bought GT4, because it is documented not to work. The DFP that I have is not as nice as the G25 (so I hear) but it does work with both GT3 and 4. It's a fine wheel, and it's cheaper than the G25. But the G25 offers a clutch and gated shifter which several computer driving sims support now. It will likely have a longer useful life than a DFP at this point.

If the DFP works, then the G25 works too. PS2 games make no difference between them. And all I can say from the feel and quality of the G25 is that it's just as good as one would expect for that price, if not even better. No grinding gears, no hand-chafing rubber, no cheap feeling plastic pedals that feel like they'll snap in two any second.

I regretted buying mine for half an hour, and that was the time I had to think about the amount of money I paid for it while hauling it home. The regret was gone for good at the very moment I plugged it in. :D

Well the G25 would definitely work on both GT3 and GT4 as i have tested them both before. But the GT3 control feels more like the the older Logitech wheel (like the Driving Force™ EX and the Wingman) so like it has a 200 degree steering lock and the vibration feels quite awkward because its either too strong or too mild. The fact that the G25 would work for the PS3 makes it a bonus as it would last you a very long time. :D

By the way, try searching for the topic first. There was already so many threads that has been covered....

I felt the same way when i first bought it..... :D

awesome, so far it looks like the G25 has just about everything, and more.. only problem is trying to get enough $$$ to get it LOL mainly why I want to go for this one is because the shifter is apart from the whole console, and well.. it has a clutch :P and all the other extra features, it just looks like a very nice unit overall.

another quick question.. is the shifter on the G25 compatible with the PS2 and gt 3 and 4??

thanks

Well yeah, it does support the shifters, but only the sequential gears, not the H-gears. (but the h-gears would work for GT5: P) The clutch doesn't work for GT3 and GT4 as well.

But both clutch and H-pattern do work for several computer sims, such as Live for Speed, Gran Prix Legends, etc.

cool, thank you! correct me if i'm wrong, but I heard gt 5 is not out yet? if it is/when ever it is... will I be able to use it on ps2, so I can run the H shifter?

and whats the difference between sequential gears and H gears?

yah, I considered running it for computer as well, with gt legends, my friend has it, its a fun game.. but I don't know if my computer would be up to it, I don"t really like playing the games on the computer due to alot of lagging I get lol

GT5 will be PS3 only, and the G25 works with the PS3.

Live for Speed is more realistic and has lower system requirements. Also, after the new patch is released (due this month), it'll have the best support for the G25's clutch and shifter of any game I'm aware of. I would recommend trying the free demo.

Unfortunately, I don't believe there are any. It shouldn't hurt to pretend, however, though you are limited to the sequential shifter too.
