Sticking steering wheel

Hey I've got a problem with my DFP.

I bought it used on ebay, and it worked well for a while.

But now it has a problem. When I turn the wheel quickly it sometimes gets stuck and so I'm traveling in a straight line with the wheel off-center.

Has anybody else had this problem and fixed it? Or does someone know about this problem and can they direct me to a site where I can find a solution to my problem?

Thanks in advance.

Yep, same problem on my DFP. :grumpy: Makes the coffee breaks almost impossible because steering wheel and actual front wheels dont line up any more. The more you snatch on the thing the worse it gets. :ouch: Sometimes you can snatch it back during gameplay, but usually end up resetting. :indiff:
Hopefully someone with more brains than I can shine some light on a solution. 💡

maybe you jumpped a gear on the inside or ground away a few teeth. Try to open it up and take a look. Other than that send it back.

I think it's the laser reading for the the potentiometer gear. If the gear it reads from isn't tight you will get an inaccurate reading. Mine was really jumpy and jerky untill I tightened up that gear. you will nead a eyeglasses phillips head screw driver or some other small screw driver to fit the tiny phillips head screw at the end of the gear. The gear is on the end of the FF motor. It's white or black with little slots in it below the teeth. There is a little clear plastic thing in front (or behind depending on perspective) the gear, THAT IS THE LASER, DO NOT TOUCH IT!! Carefully tighten the screw that hold the gear tight. BUT DON'T OVER TIGHTEN IT.

If that doesn't work, your SOL.
