This is a thread series for the seasonal time trials that focuses on completing the challenges (i.e. beating the gold target times) with stock versions of the cars. This means that instead of maximizing your PP with upgrades and focusing on getting the fastest laps on the in-game leaderboard, you are attempting to complete the challenges with the bare minimum amount of 'car' and money-spent as is possible.

With the new more open ended format means that part of the challenge will be finding a stock car that has the lowest PP or lowest price depending on your view. It is also difficult to predict which types of tires a car will come with before purchasing.

Warning: Some of these challenges are getting to be extreme and should be approached with caution! :banghead:

In order to participate your car must be stock.

1) A stock car is essentially any car as it is when purchased from the dealership or won as a prize: it will have had no modifications, added parts, or adjustments done that affect how the car performs.
2) No oil changes are permitted: if you have had an oil change you must wait until the effects of the HP boost have been removed by driving over 300 km.
3) You must use the original tire type that came with the car, unless dirt or snow tires are required.
4) No changes to any “Car Settings” are permitted: they must ALL be left at their default values. [Note: cars that come with Fully Customizable Suspension that were purchased or won prior to patch 1.11 must have the suspension settings restored to default in order to be updated with the new stock suspension settings.]
5) No SRF or ASM is permitted: other “Driver Assists” are permitted.

Basically, the ONLY changes you may make to a car include: painting the car and changing a car’s racing number. Any other changes means your car is not stock.

Stock A-Spec Seasonals #36:

Beginner Level GT300 Race Car Challenge: Twin Ring Motegi Road Course - 530 PP - RH
Intermediate Level European Hot Hatch Challenge: Brands Hatch Grand Prix - 450 PP - CS
Expert Level GT500 Race Car Challenge: Nurburgring Nordschleife - 600 PP - RH

The Stock Seasonal Spreadsheet:
A few members have begun a leaderboard of sorts where individuals will be able to input their info into a public document. This is not so much a competition as a way to compare all sorts of data. At this point the data that is recorded for entries is as follows:

PP - Best Lap - Total Time - Car - Tires - Drive - Power - Weight - Rabbit - Rabbit Total Time

Link to the GTP Stock Seasonal Spreadsheet:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...hotiLFp3i88kP4fjOAJzbxl_w/edit#gid=2030933764

Notes about the Spreadsheet:
Tabs will generally be ordered with the newest seasonal events at the left.
Gold times are ordered based first on PP (lowest PP at the top), and then total time.
Bronze and Silver times are ordered based solely on total time (fastest time at the top): these entries will be grayed out.
If you are comfortable with entering your info please do so.
Only create one entry per car for your best total time for that car.
To add an empty line: right click (PC) on a gray row number box and select add a row above or below.
If you make a mistake or change something you did not mean to change hit undo once or a few times.

My results so far with a wheel and an automatic transmission:

530PP GT300 at Twin Ring Motegi Road Course:
504PP
- 1:58.847 - 4:19.008 - RE Amemiya RX7 GT300 Base Model '06 - RH - FR - 320hp - 1100kg - CUSCO SUBARU ADVAN IMPREZA - 4:19.694

This was the only eligible car I owned...so there might better options.

450PP European Hot hatch at Brands Hatch Grand Prix:
434PP
- 1:54.008 - 6:13.252 - Lancia Stratos 15th Anniv '73 - CS - MR - 220hp - 980kg - 135i Coupe '07 - 6:14.293

There was freezing rain on the track this morning. :scared:

600PP GT500 at Nurburgring Nordschleife:
591PP
- 6:36.800 - 7:04.966 - Nissan Z GT500 Base Model '06 - RH - FR - 508hp - 1100kg - XANAVI NISMO Z '06 - 7:06.844

This one took a while. I tried several lower PP cars but was way behind. It still took many tries before I had both the feel of the track in this car and a slightly slower rabbit which I was able to draft past on the final straight. The other rabbits I had were in the 7:01-7:02 range.

Lol, Sounds fun. I give it a try. I drive pretty good with stock cars because In GT5 I not tuned any car.

On the ring I had a 7:12 lap(total) with a stock.

I think it's probably easier in the normal car than the Anniversary model. Extra power just makes it even harder to keep pointing the right way.

530PP GT300 at Twin Ring Motegi Road Course:
I only had two eligible cars and the RX7 GT300 Base Model '06 was the lowest PP. Very easy win stock but I didn't note the result. SH makes it a lot more fun and still not too difficult to win. CS makes it hard - too hard for me.
I think the C-WEST RAZO SILVIA '01 may be the lowest PP at 490. It seems to always come last anyway. I might give it a go later.

Just checked the spreadsheet and in the last GT300 event the lowest PP winner was the C-WEST RAZO SILVIA '01, driven by @Hastatus. I guess it must be in your stockyard.

490PP - 2:04.948 - 4:29.194 - C-WEST RAZO SILVIA '01 - RH - FR - 296hp - 1150kg - SUBARU BRZ R&D SPORT '12 - 4:29.527

It turns out I did have more GT300 cars including the Silvia but they all had wet tyres on.

- 1:56.xxx - 6:19.801 - Alpine A310 1600VE '73- CS - RR - 123hp - 930kg - Megane RS Trophy '11 - 6:20.475
The Alpine is great fun here.

I had a go at the ring in the Honda Weider HSV-010 '11 (472PP) and came third by about 5s. I'm sure a win is possible but you have to drive so aggressively to pass the AI that it spoils the fun. Also sticky tyres and downforce mean that a lot of the ring's interesting corners become flat-out and steer, which makes it a bit dull.

450PP European Hot hatch at Brands Hatch Grand Prix:
338pp - 1:58.607 - 6:29.356 - Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint Speciale '63 - CS - FR - 112hp - 950kg - A3 3.2 Quattro '03 - 6:29.483

This one was a nail biter with the Audi out for blood once I got around him lol. We were side by side in last turn then he braked early (well they always do right) giving me the p1 barely. All aids off except abs1 Ds3 controller, analog sticks.

Edit: Accidentally put time as 6:26.356 for me. Was reading grainy photo I took of screen with my phone sorry. Corrected with right time.

It's like deciding to take the old Kawasaki 600 out for a spin - you get it out of the garage, put your helmet on, and it suddenly starts to drizzle.
Same with the Stratos - take it out and suddenly the weather report turns out there was freezing rain just moments before you started out.

And it happens every time one takes a stock Stratos out.

Excellent choice of car, and one of my favourites. It's pretty much unbeatable at its PP. With this being restricted to European cars the next one down is the Tigra @334PP on CM. Now that's going to be tough.

The car has more speed in it than that I know. I was juggling between it and the Duetto. I was looking at the Tigra also. CM tires will make it tough, but I think you may have a shot if you win the rabbit lottery.;)

The Speciale is a better car than the Duetto, more power and lighter. I had a go in the Tigra - 4th place and a race time of about 6:40. I don't think I can get the win in it but I dare say there are those that could. I'm going to spend a bit of time with the Alfas tonight.

Yea I had a similar experience with Xsara VTR. CM tires and the FF drive train just kill the corner speeds. If you can get the Volvo R design for the rabbit Tigra just, might, pull it off.

My favorite car for this event is the R5 Turbo. 388pp and punches way above that. It is not as fast as the '11 Elise but there is only one line up I could not take down with it. I think it is one of the best cars to learn MR driving in.

I can post a time for the beginner event but I figure it would be moot since the Silvia is as low as it gets.

I can barely win the Expert with a tuned HSV :( but miracles could happen lol.

338pp - ??? - 6:31.018 - Alfa Romeo Spider Duetto '66 - CS - FR - 108hp - 960kg - Coupe Turbo Plus '00 - 6:32.053

Nice to beat the modern Alfa in the Speciale. It was damn close though. Took him on the outside of the last bend and prayed for the finish line to come. But if you take to the track with an Alfa painted the colour of a baby's first motion you don't deserve to win. All Alfas should be red. It's the law.
I haven't tried the R5 Turbo here yet. Maybe on CM to add a bit of spice. :D
I've not come across the Volvo rabbit yet. Sounds slow, but is he Tigra slow?
I've still not won the expert one in anything yet. Plenty of time though.

Never managed to win in the Tigra but the little Pug is a nice drive for a FF. Did it in the R8 on CM which makes for a nice close race. CH is a bit too wild.
