This is a thread series for the seasonal time trials that focuses on completing the challenges (i.e. beating the gold target times) with stock versions of the cars. This means that instead of maximizing your PP with upgrades and focusing on getting the fastest laps on the in-game leaderboard, you are attempting to complete the challenges with the bare minimum amount of 'car' and money-spent as is possible.

With the new more open ended format means that part of the challenge will be finding a stock car that has the lowest PP or lowest price depending on your view. It is also difficult to predict which types of tires a car will come with before purchasing.

Warning: Some of these challenges are getting to be extreme and should be approached with caution! :banghead:

In order to participate your car must be stock.

1) A stock car is essentially any car as it is when purchased from the dealership or won as a prize: it will have had no modifications, added parts, or adjustments done that affect how the car performs.
2) No oil changes are permitted: if you have had an oil change you must wait until the effects of the HP boost have been removed by driving over 300 km.
3) You must use the original tire type that came with the car, unless dirt or snow tires are required.
4) No changes to any “Car Settings” are permitted: they must ALL be left at their default values. [Note: cars that come with Fully Customizable Suspension that were purchased or won prior to patch 1.11 must have the suspension settings restored to default in order to be updated with the new stock suspension settings.]
5) No SRF or ASM is permitted: other “Driver Assists” are permitted.

Basically, the ONLY changes you may make to a car include: painting the car and changing a car’s racing number. Any other changes means your car is not stock.

Stock A-Spec Seasonals #46:

Beginner Level Non-Race Car Challenge: Silverstone National Circuit - 500 PP - SH
Intermediate Level Non-Race Car Challenge: Laguna Seca - 550 PP - SM
Expert Level Non-Race Car Challenge: Mount Panorama - 600 PP - SS

Repeat of Stock A-Spec Seasonal #3

Last time the records were:
Beginner - 429PP Mazda RX-8 Type S '07 (StirlingMoose)
Intermediate - 463PP Tesla Motors Tesla Roadster '08 (StirlingMoose)
Expert - 559PP Ferrari 458 Italia (StirlingMoose)
I did not include records that involved blocking or did not include car stats for easy identification.

My results so far with a wheel and an automatic transmission:

500PP at Silverstone National Circuit:
413PP
- 1:07.230 - 5:55.959 - Ferrari Dino 246 GT '71 - SH - MR - 191hp - 1080kg - Mustang Boss 302 '13 - 5:56.779

550PP at Laguna Seca:
486PP
- 1:36.025 - 8:39.870 - Shelby Series One Super Charged '03 - SH - FR - 319hp - 1202kg - Gallardo LP 560-4 '08 - 8:43.295

600PP at Mount Panorama:
572PP
- 2:10.716 - 11:17.642 - Tommykaira ZZII '00 - SH - W4D - 542hp - 1000kg - Cerbera Speed 12 '00 - 11:17.767

Need to not have the Huayra rabbit and get lucky with the rest of your lineup. They seemed faster and or crashed less than last time: maybe due to the changed physics?

The Bathurst event on SH tires makes it quite fun. I've done the Enzo and MP4-12C so far.

Good job in the Dino, that's a few seconds faster than me. For now. :D

image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg Beginner with the HSR II, intermediate with the Ferrari SPI, expert with the Austin Martin One could only get 6th place...

600PP at Mount Panorama:
587PP
- 2:04.9xx - 10:52.599 - Alpine VGT - SS - MR - 443hp - 900kg - Huayra '11 - ???

The Alpine makes fairly light work of it. Good fun though. And one of the oddest glitched up boards I've seen. I thought the Huayra was about 2s behind.

And this is definitely much harder than last time. I tried a couple of 550PP cars, X-Bow and NSX LM road car, and stayed at the back gradually losing time to the leader. Last time apparently I did it in a Miura, although not clean.

The beginner one I did in the Dino, an easy win although 4 or 5 seconds slower than @Hastatus. Got lucky with that one. Not much luck with the usual suspect Toyota FT-86 - 6s behind, nor the Anniversary Stratos - 4s behind. Both may be capable but it won't be easy. The Stratos is again hugely entertaining.

Hmmm, pretty sure my Alpine is at 595 PP? Wonder if it's got an oil change…

I'm still struggling to win in the ZZII, despite more ~11:10 times. It's actually quite a difficult race and I'm driving my little butt off. Argh!

I'll check mine out again. I could be mistaken.

The ZZII simply, hates slowing down. Especially compared to the Alpine. I had to completely relearn all braking points because they're way earlier. Even still, miss one by just a touch and it's like there's no recovering. Car sounds good though.

I haven't tried the Alpine yet, did try the Nissan R390 road car made it to 8th place. Of course that was all before PSN went down...sigh :banghead:

@StirlingMoose I just bought a new one, 587 PP 👍

And it's on SS tires. I was running mine on SH tires at 595 pp and was almost 20 seconds behind your time. Way too large of a gap between us, so I had to buy a new one. Yep, SS tires.

And the difference in tires was huge.

2:02.359 fast lap
10:44.776
Hyuara 11:01
Gap +16.707

Edit: 10:42.143

Stock ZZII got lucky because the McLaren crashed on the 2nd turn on the first lap and got past him lol not a great overall time.

Yep. It was on SS. No wonder it was easy.

500PP at Silverstone National Circuit:
424PP
- 1:07.903 - 6:00.096 - Lotus Elise 111S '03 - CS - MR - 153hp - 806kg - Cerbera Speed 6 '97 - 6:00.816

Once thought no chance with CS.

550PP at Laguna Seca:
457PP
- 1:40.256 - 9:00.770 - Infiniti FX45 Concept '02 - SH - 4WD - 340hp - 1500kg - LFA Nürburgring Package '12 - 9:00.908

AI went snail pace until they got passed by a SUV. Nearly fail to get back into 1st place on the last lap.(Sorry for some blocking)

600PP at Mount Panorama:
572PP
- 2:09.902 - 11:11.489 - Tommykaira ZZII '00 - SH - 4WD - 542hp - 1000kg - McLaren F1 '94 - 11:12.298

Check the old video, pick something perform similar to the Diablo GT what i used last time and barely overtake 1 AI in the 1st lap.
With no choice switch to ZZII and still had hard time even in a slow field.

Thanks, but compared to your times and c.clifford I'm still a rank amateur...lol
I hope you have a good week...
Hey brother don't forget we are using a freak of a car that can do some crazy lap times its not all down to me and cliffs skill
