This is a thread series for the seasonal time trials that focuses on completing the challenges (i.e. beating the gold target times) with stock versions of the cars. This means that instead of maximizing your PP with upgrades and focusing on getting the fastest laps on the in-game leaderboard, you are attempting to complete the challenges with the bare minimum amount of 'car' and money-spent as is possible.

With the new more open ended format means that part of the challenge will be finding a stock car that has the lowest PP or lowest price depending on your view. It is also difficult to predict which types of tires a car will come with before purchasing.

Warning: Some of these challenges are getting to be extreme and should be approached with caution! :banghead:

In order to participate your car must be stock.

1) A stock car is essentially any car as it is when purchased from the dealership or won as a prize: it will have had no modifications, added parts, or adjustments done that affect how the car performs.
2) No oil changes are permitted: if you have had an oil change you must wait until the effects of the HP boost have been removed by driving over 300 km.
3) You must use the original tire type that came with the car, unless dirt or snow tires are required.
4) No changes to any “Car Settings” are permitted: they must ALL be left at their default values. [Note: cars that come with Fully Customizable Suspension that were purchased or won prior to patch 1.11 must have the suspension settings restored to default in order to be updated with the new stock suspension settings.]
5) No SRF or ASM is permitted: other “Driver Assists” are permitted.

Basically, the ONLY changes you may make to a car include: painting the car and changing a car’s racing number. Any other changes means your car is not stock.

Expert - 544PP - Toyota FT-1 - total time = 8:15.109 - nowayback

My results so far with a wheel and an automatic transmission:

450PP at High Speed Ring:
373PP
- 1:26.179 - 6:10.335 - Toyota 2000GT '67 - CS - FR -153hp - 1120kg - NSX '90 - 6:10.488

500PP at Deep Forest:
440PP
- 1:21.779 - 7:19.288 - Nissan 240RS Rally Car '85 - RH - FR - 236hp - 970kg - DELTA S4 Rally Car '85 - 7:19.646

Spent a long time trying to get gold in the Honda Garthers, but was not ever able to get a good line-up.

550PP at Nurburgring:
544PP
- 7:29.270 - 8:23.753 - Toyota FT-1 - RH - FR - -- - -- - Viper SRT10 ACR '08 - 8:25.295

Got lucky and managed to get gold with the FT-1 on my second attempt.

Started the 450PP at High Speed Ring with the Toyota 2000GT '67, but was 3s slower than @Hastatus - btw. thanks for the Thread again! Then lowered PP a tiny bit, had a mediocre race, but here is it anyway:

450PP at High Speed Ring:
371PP
- 1:27.904 - 6:18.291 - Mazda MX-5 Miata 1.8 RS (NB,J) '98 - CS - FR -142hp - 1030kg - Ford Focus RS '02 - 6:18.414 (Wheel, MT, TC0, ABS1)

Edit: Above is still my lowest PP, but this 2000GT time i like better ;):

450PP at High Speed Ring:
373PP
- 1:25.986 - 6:09.307 - Toyota 2000GT '67 - CS - FR -153hp - 1120kg - NSX Type S '99 - 6:09.474

Edit 2: Had a win with a 361PP Mazda Roadster, but since i can easily repeat that or go a bit lower, i'll post details when my stomach feels better.

Some Lexus Hype from Super GT few days ago:D

450PP at High Speed Ring:
367PP
- 1:27.551 - 6:15.933 - Lexus IS 200 '98 - CS - FR -157hp - 1310kg - LEGACY B4 2.0GT spec.B '03 - 6:16.101

500PP at Deep Forest:
464PP
- 1:20.388 - 7:08.127 - Lexus IS 200 GT-1 '04 - RH - FR - 277hp - 1010kg - DELTA S4 Rally Car '85 - 7:08.597

Everytime got passed by S4 i can't got it back, need to keep it behind.

550PP at Nurburgring:
541PP
- 7:19.038 - 8:13.288 - Lexus LFA '10 - SH - FR - 552hp - 1480kg - Ford GT '05 - 8:13.744

The LFA is unstable react to bumps and jumps, got a lot retries just by the Flugplatz jump:boggled:
At the last straight i was over 2 second behind the Ford under the bridge, so the braking was a bit all or nothing and surprised the suicide braking got me close enough for passing.

OK, was able to drive a bit quicker with the 361PP Mazda, so here are the details:

450PP at High Speed Ring:
361PP
- 1:27.510 - 6:17.369 - Mazda Eunos Roadster SR-Limited (NA) '97 - CS - FR - 130hp - 1000kg - Mazda RX-7 Type RS-R (FD) '97 - 6:17.568
(Wheel, MT, TC0, ABS1)

Very likely the two lowest PP Stock Cars i can race to win, so probably finished with this.

Starting with a known winner :)

500PP at Deep Forest:
440PP
- 1:22.407 - 7:18.123 - Nissan 240RS Rally Car '85 - RH - FR - 236hp - 970kg - Toyota RSC Rally Raid Car - 7:18.534 (Wheel, MT, TC0, ABS1)

Then lowering PP a little bit - running an awful time, but rabbit was kind ;)

500PP at Deep Forest:
433PP
- 1:23.096 - 7:24.604 - Honda Mugen Motul Civic Si'87 - RH - FF - 221hp - 890kg - Audi Sport quattro S1 Rally Car '86 - 7:24.970 (Wheel, MT, TC0, ABS1)

No ABS :D

I'll be back later.

No ABS :D

I'll be back later.

7:21 in a loss to the RSC Rally Car was my fastest time.
Under 7:18 is definetely fast enough to win, great time with this car.

I'll might try again without ABS to see the difference :)

Good luck mate!

Edit: Improved my best winning time to 7:22.563 with ABS0 :)
ABS 0 or 1 doesn't make a difference in my opinion, as i only brake twice anyhow ;)
Time is mostly a result of where to pass the roadblocks.
Having a group of four cars to overtake at once wasn't helping much.
Forgot to check my best lap time, but was somewhere in the 1:22s.
Won't try again!

450PP
- ??? - 7:23.147 - BMW 320i TC '03 - RH - FR - 257hp - 1140kg - DELTA S4 Rally Car '85 - 7:23.449

Picked the car at random and it goes ok. Also tried the Honda CR-Z Touring Car @442PP and had a couple of close seconds. To be honest I find cars this slow on racing tyres a bit dull.

450PP at High Speed Ring:
371PP
- ??? - 6:17.432 - MGF '97 - CS - MR -142hp - 1070kg - NSX 'Type S 99 - 6:18.133

Now this was much more fun. The little MG is a joy to drive here. Lots of lovely lift-off oversteer. You hardly have to turn the wheel.

Still no joy at the ring. I spent quite a bit of time trying in the Ruf CTR but I think I was being rather optimistic. It was fun though. The rubber-banding is driving me mad. Got a very close second in the FT-1 with a 7:28 then next race, against the same mediocre line-up, came third by 3s, by going 10s faster. :banghead:

Gave the CTR a spin, didn't drove it much so a bit worry on the ring

550PP at Nurburgring:
537PP - 7:26.920 - 8:21.720 - RUF CTR2 '96 - SH - 4WD - 513hp - 1380kg - Saleen S7 '02 - 8:21.899

Felt like a FF than 4WD...
This time there was even more suicide braking covering 3.1 seconds gap. (But crashed into the Saleen i'm not happy:grumpy:)

=====================================

Maybe my last attempt.
Anyone want a Ring Taxi ride? :D

550PP at Nurburgring:
513PP - 7:36.028 - 8:30.294 - BMW M5 '08 - SH - FR - 500hp - 1855kg - Viper SRT10 ACR '08 - 8:30.499

450PP - High Speed Ring
So I decided to try the Audi S3 '02 on this event (406PP - CS) and the following happened:

IMG_4149_small.jpg

I didn't even know that was possible without getting a tie. The killer is that I was leading from the final curve until inches before the finish line.

I demanded a retry and was able to win.

406PP - 1:26.468 - 6:14.354 - Audi S3 '02 - CS - FR - Honda NSX Type S '99 - 6:14.361

Finally got the win - even though it was more than 5s slower than my fastest lap :yuck:

550PP at Nurburgring:
544PP
- 7:32.377 - 8:26.860 - Toyota FT-1 graphite - RH - FR - -- - -- - Viper SRT10 ACR '08 - 8:27.893 (Wheel, MT, TC3 :embarrassed:, ABS1)
