This is a thread series for the seasonal time trials that focuses on completing the challenges (i.e. beating the gold target times) with stock versions of the cars. This means that instead of maximizing your PP with upgrades and focusing on getting the fastest laps on the in-game leaderboard, you are attempting to complete the challenges with the bare minimum amount of 'car' and money-spent as is possible. Since SSTT#8 some of the gold time have become increasingly challenging to reach with this approach, and some have been shown to be impossible. These may require much more time and practice for some people.

SRF has finally died! This week's seasonals seem to indicate that SRF will no longer be an option: Last week's BMW VGT courtesy car time trial started us off on this path and now it seems to be the case for the regular time trial events. Thumbs way up PD! 👍

With the change in format comes a new challenge for the stock drivers: one of the events is open to many many more makes and models meaning the challenge will be to find a stock car that has the lowest PP or lowest price depending on your view.

Warning: Some of these challenges are getting to be extreme and should be approached with caution! :banghead:

This thread is for people to post their lap times who have used the following limitations:

1) Car must be stock: no upgrades to cars are permitted (this includes upgrades that do not increase PP such as transmissions).
2) Fresh oil changes in order to temporarily increase HP and PP are not permitted. If you have done an oil change recently you should lower your car's power to the non-fresh-oil-change HP level or wait until the HP has returned to the OEM oil level.
3) You must use the original tires that the car came with.
4) No "Car Settings" like Brake Balance can be adjusted.
5) No SRF or ASM is allowed: other Driver Assists are permitted. [SRF is obviously permitted if PD has forced drivers to employ it.]

Stock Seasonal Time Trials #13:

Front-Drive [Front-Engine] Non-Racing Car Super Lap: target 1:20.500
[Let's find the lowest PP car and or lowest priced car.]

Toyota 86 Suburu BRZ/ Non-Racing Car Super Lap: target 1:41.000
[Stock 86 GT 15th Anniv '12 = 446 PP - 246 HP - 1100 KG - SH]*

*The Anniversary edition is 39 PP greater than the other two options and it is still 34 PP below the maximum requirements for the event. Unfortunately not everyone will have access to this car.

My times so far with an automatic transmission and a steering wheel:

Peugeot 207 GTi ’07 - 394 PP - $32,000 - 1:20.452

86 GT 15th Anniv '12 - 1:42.954

For the FF Time Trial I have stuck mostly with trying premium models (unless they have a cool 60s and 70s look). These were some of my other results:
1.27.480 Mini Marcos GT ‘70 - 384 PP
1:21.492 MINI COOPER S Countryman (R60) ’11 - 390 PP
1:21.121 MINI COOPER S ’07 - 395 PP

Finding a couple more seconds at Brand Hatch with the Anniversary Edition should be possible with a manual transmission and or enough practice.

Front-Drive [Front-Engine] Non-Racing Car Super Lap: target 1:20.500

Honda Civic Type R (EK) '97 -390pp- = 1:20.348

[TT#13] FWD Non-Racing Car Super Lap [Civic Type R (EK) '97 @ Stock=1'20.348].jpg

WOW... that took some effort to do, but surprisingly in only 53 miles. :D 👍

Going to try the 86 GT @ Brands Hatch now.

1:20.492 Honda CR-X SiR '90 (CS) 383pp/157bhp/986kg 15,470 Cr.
I was actually considering to try that car, but decided to try the Type R first as I already had it in the garage.

Had a go at Brands Hatch - but on Comfort Softs... And...
Went off track as I thought it was on the Indy circuit. (That got a ticking off from the Kentish Stewards) (Nice you can skip a whole chunk of the lap though... No invisible walls. And shades of James Hunt in 1976 after the abortive first lap Ferrari mess.)

Got my act together but set a time that was so slow, when I quit out (1m50 or so) I didn't even get Bronze... "Out of time" and not even a single slow hand clap. Made me laugh!

The FF car?
Any tips for a fun FF stock car? Honda Del Sol?

Decided to give this a try.

'91 Prelude ~ 1:20.985

BRZ ~ 1:44.544

If it's fun you're after you can't beat the old Mini. Give it the scandi flick and the tail goes flying out, then floor it and it sails round the corners. Slow as hell up the hill though. Five seconds shy of bronze, but who cares?

The Abarth 500 is very nippy through the bends but again too slow up the hill. Did a 1:22.8 in it. Only 372PP so I don't think it's a contender.

Did a go in the Pontiac Sunfire - Painted Sunburst Yellow.
Not exactly super enjoyable - But I managed to dial my time down into solid silver - perhaps a Gold is do-able for me with it I only did 5 laps, and then I got a Black flag for cutting a hairpin corner, all four wheels off the track - Bad Bad Bad, but you have to cut corners to get anywhere at this track, Maybe why I don't really enjoy it much... So how better to improve my outlook than running loads of Front Wheel drive stock cars here?

1m22.721 Pontiac Sunfire (180bhp - 399PP)

I was looking at all the American Cars... On paper this should be the best... next best on my list is...
386 - Ford Focus ST170
375 - Pontiac Vibe GT
368 - Infiniti G20
356 - Pt Cruiser (Walter Juniors second car)
352 - Eagle Talon (Porn star name!)
333 - Scion xA
324 - Scion xB
277 - Ford Ka

- I am planning to run the German 2006 New Beetle to see how well Marie Schrader will do.

These are 5 lap runs... No Aids, totally stock (Maybe a Paint job - Or an upgrade to Comfort Softs) - ABS=0 - TCS= 0

Marie Schrader's VW New Beetle in Batikblau Perkeffect - came with Comfort Mediums, so I upgraded to Comfort Softs (I Like Marie's style though)

The car is 115bhp and tips the PP Scale at 330. It just lacked the grunt to deal with the fast sections.
5laps and I had -
1m27.1
. --VW New Beetle(330pp)
(I think one of the tyres had bits of an RC car stuck in the treads)

---
BMW Mini Cooper S (Black (White roof)) 160bhp and 380PP (This is the first Cooper S - Year 2002?)
This was much more eager to go, but with 5 laps I had several Black flags form getting too close to the fence on the inside of the hairpins. Felt a bit 'floaty' near the Bellevue hotel (Last double apex corner) and the nose dived in like an apex-crazed Stuka when all at once I backed off the gas hammer. In a split second the Mini Cooper S dropped a shoulder and the tail got all waggy. I simply caught it with a dab of oppo and I was away, crossing the line in my best time so far...

1m21.417 - Mini Cooper S (380pp)

In an attempt to find something other than the usual suspects I discovered the Hyundai Tiburon GT '01 which is a great little car. I've managed a 1:20.792 but just cannot find the extra 3 tenths no matter what. I'm sure there's a gold in it but it will take a better driver than me. Anyone want to have a go?

Had several "5 laps only" tries.

Cooper S '05 (Black Eye Purple) 1m21.003 (167bhp/391pp)

Felt much better than the previous 02 version, I think that with application and a few more laps I could have dropped a few more tenths to get gold.

Cooper S '07 (Mello Yellow) 1m21.376 (173bhp/ 395pp)

This car just didn't feel like a progression from the previous models... (Probably some basic car thing I am missing!) My lap was a 'good' lap but just slower for some odd reason.

(Why not the latest Cooper S ? - Nope. It is over 400pp!)

Hyundai Coupe FX '01 (Mystic Teal) 1m21.313 (164bhp/383pp)

Different drive after over a dozen BMiniW laps. Not sure I could ever get this car to gold without a lot of track time.

Mitsubishi FTO GPX '94 (Imperial Red) 1m20.362 (197/400pp)

Firstly - this car has terrible brakes. Really has trouble slowing down, I had to brake much earlier than "normal" and even then I flew through turn 1 and ended up with a ruined lap. It also had some high speed turning issues, normally the uphill final part of the lap is easy meat and potatoes stuff. but the right/left after the final split was a fine line that you either got right... or else messed up. (Turn in too early or too hard or too late or too softly and the lap is compromised) Still I managed to hook up a good enough lap to get gold -

I may have done more than 5 laps in this car, (15.5 miles - is that 7 and a half?) but because it was such a dog to drive (Compared to the others) it made me drive with more focus... And those 197 horses didn't hurt the time either.

Had fun doing this. The final car was a bit of a "On the rebound" car as I had wanted a 95 Eclipse - but that was far beyond the 400pp hard ceiling for the event.

I also became über-pro - I run no aids at all - including as of today - no Blind Spot indicator. Hardcore! (As in I often end up in the gravel traps that are full of hardcore...)

Has anyone got close to golding the BRZ/GT 86 at stock? (non-anniversary) - I'm on a 1:42.3 with sectors for a 42 flat. I'm sure i can find a few tenths here and there, but a whole second?

99 toyota celica ss-II 1:20:500.... Update... 1:20.174 99 acura integra type r.. the full suspension, lsd, clutch n race transmision.. the trick is to adjust the tranny all the way for acceleration and you'll squeeze out the last few tenths..

@PlayerONE7125 , you propably missed the point of this thread.

@PlayerONE7125 ... That means..... Sub 400pp cars only...... To be in showroom state with no tuning parts added and no adjustments to BB.

@kremmen64 ... I could only just manage a silver by a few tenths with the 86-GT so far, I'll need to try again soon.

Lol oops, the celica was stock, i missed the gold by .001 tho.. im sure if you take a 99 integra type r, and add enough ballast to equal the weight of a driver, you'd be in at under 400 pp. And if you want to add more of a challenge add some more weight to represent a passenger, or kids in the back, or move it all the way back to represent some1 in the trunk, wutever floats your boat.

I highly doubt that is possible. I only managed to gold it by almost 1s with the anniversary edition. The stock BRZ/GT86 just hasn't got enough 'oomph' for the straights.
