This is a thread series for the seasonal time trials that focuses on completing the challenges (i.e. beating the gold target times) with stock versions of the cars. This means that instead of maximizing your PP with upgrades and focusing on getting the fastest laps on the in-game leaderboard, you are attempting to complete the challenges with the bare minimum amount of 'car' and money-spent as is possible.

With the new more open ended format means that part of the challenge will be finding a stock car that has the lowest PP or lowest price depending on your view. It is also difficult to predict which types of tires a car will come with before purchasing.

Warning: Some of these challenges are getting to be extreme and should be approached with caution! :banghead:

In order to participate your car must be stock.

1) A stock car is essentially any car as it is when purchased from the dealership or won as a prize: it will have had no modifications, added parts, or adjustments done that affect how the car performs.
2) No oil changes are permitted: if you have had an oil change you must wait until the effects of the HP boost have been removed by driving over 300 km.
3) You must use the original tire type that came with the car, unless dirt or snow tires are required.
4) No changes to any “Car Settings” are permitted: they must ALL be left at their default values. [Note: cars that come with Fully Customizable Suspension that were purchased or won prior to patch 1.11 must have the suspension settings restored to default in order to be updated with the new stock suspension settings.]
5) No SRF or ASM is permitted: other “Driver Assists” are permitted.

Basically, the ONLY changes you may make to a car include: painting the car and changing a car’s racing number. Any other changes means your car is not stock.

Stock Seasonal Time Trials #29:

European Non-Racecar Super Lap: target 1:13.000 - Eiger Nordwand Short Track - 500PP - SH

GT3 Racecar Super Lap: 2:08.000 - Mount Panorama - 630PP - RH

The Stock Seasonal Spreadsheet:

A few members have begun a leaderboard of sorts where individuals will be able to input their info into a public document. This is not so much a competition as a way to compare all sorts of data. At this point the data that is recorded for entries is as follows:

PP - Lap Time - Car (try to include manufacturer) - Tires - Drive - Power - Weight

Link to the GTP Stock Seasonal Spreadsheet:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1kDEW2OWUxHfq9PTR4G4-HKXl3veLfq0sXhvwiPYMUGw/

Notes about the Spreadsheet:
Tabs will generally be ordered with the newest seasonal events at the left.
Gold times are ordered based first on PP (lowest PP at the top), and then lap time.
Bronze and Silver times are ordered based solely on lap time (fastest time at the top): these entries will be grayed out.
If you are comfortable with entering your info please do so.
Only create one entry per car for your best lap time for that car.
To add an empty line: right click (PC) on a gray row number box and select add a row above or below.
If you make a mistake or change something you did not mean to change hit undo once or a few times.

My times so far with a wheel and an automatic transmission:

500PP European Car at Eiger Nordwand Short Track:

496PP – 1:11.211 – Ferrari 365 GTB4 ’71 – SH – FR – 347hp – 1200kg
481PP – 1:12.179 – Ferrari 512 BB ’76 – SH – MR – 354hp – 1400kg

630PP GT3 at Mount Panorama:

599PP – 2:06.913 – Audi R8 LMS Ultra (Team Phoenix) ’12 – RH – MR – 528hp – 1250kg
592PP – 2:07.158 – BMW Z4 GT3 ’11 – RH – FR – 508hp – 1190kg

500PP European Car at Eiger Nordwand Short Track:

493PP - 1:11.552 - Lotus Esprit Sport 350 '00 - SH - MR - 353hp - 1300kg

I tried out the anniversary Stratos and Alpine first but I don't think CS are going to cut it. Bronze only for me.

630PP GT3 at Mount Panorama:

592PP – 2:07.432 – BMW Z4 GT3 ’11 – RH – FR – 508hp – 1190kg

Not many eligible cars for this and the Beemer was the lowest PP. Time for a shopping spree maybe.

500PP European Car at Eiger Nordwand Short Track:

440PP - 1:11.391 - Lotus Elise 111R '04 - SH - MR - 194bhp - 860kg

630PP GT3 at Mount Panorama:
592PP
- 2:06.002 - BMW Z4 GT3 '11 - RH - FR - 508bhp - 1190kg
586PP - 2:07.954 - Audi R8 LMS - Team Oreca '10 - RH - MR - 528bhp - 1340kg (will update time if I can get a clean lap done.)

@StirlingMoose , this Audi is the lowest PP car. I don't see it getting gold because of the horrible handling and enviromental (stobe light) effects. Would sure like to see some "alien" prove me wrong.

EDIT: Got gold ~50 minutes after writing that. But the challenge is stll open for anyone who want's to take a shot at my time. I only barely golded it.

It's certainly not worth me wasting my money on it then. Thanks.

Holy 🤬 this Audi has to be one of the worst handling cars in the game! :banghead:

I'm trying though, and I'm actually really close. Sorry, had to vent.

That was really hard. MadMax, partial throttle through the turns to induce some push helps a ton and once I came to grips (pun) with it, it all fell into place.

630pp Bathurst

586pp - 2:07.101 - Audi R8 LMS Oreca - RH - MR - 528hp - 1340kg
610pp - 2:06.913 - Benz SLS AMG - RH - FR - 570hp - 1350kg
592pp - 2:05.101 - BMW Z4 GT3 - RH - FR - 508hp - 1190kg
609pp - 2:04.094 - Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 Base - RH - FR - 591hp - 1350kg

Shaking after that Audi run.

Edit: Felt like mentioning no aids other than ABS 1, and using both sticks and manual shifts.

When I was collecting this data my stock Z4 rank dropped from 3983 to 4374.

Well done @coryclifford , how the did you get to 2'07.1's ? 👍

How do the various flavours of R8 LMS's line up.
I bought and ran one in the GT3 A-Spec area, and it was interesting to drive. The way it would just loose rear end grip at low speeds.
Is this a trait they all have (Stock - No aids) -

Lurkerising

Thanks, MM, took a few beers and then it clicked. :sly:

Smoother, slower inputs. Wasn't perfect either so I'm sure there's a 2:06 in there. One of the few replays I saved.

Lotta coasting, short shifting and making straight lines because as Ryk just said, it would loose rear end grip at low speeds.

Im new here and I like the idea with the stock cars, but I have a question. Its this online? I mean, If I made already a good time with tuned car and Im not improve this time with the stock car, how can you take a shot of my time in the leaderboard?

@Jfrod : We're not concerned with absolute proof here. Just write down your time so you do not forget it and post it here. From time to time people will post pictures, videos or GT6 playback data if they've done something very impressive that they are proud of, but most of the time we just trust each other. :)

Well I had to see what all the fuss was about so bought myself the Audi. I almost baulked when I saw the price, one and a half million for a car that has earned the accolade of one of the worst handling cars in the game. What the heck. It really is nasty though isn't it? Won't turn when you want it to but very happy to turn when you want it to go straight. I managed to coax a silver out of it but gold is a big ask. There is a certain masochistic enjoyment to be had from it though, enough to make me want to persevere.

About the Audi R8 LMS's , they differ in weight:

---R8 LMS '09 528bhp/1300kg
---R8 LMS (Team PlayStation) '09 528bhp/1300kg
---R8 LMS - Team Oreca '10 528bhp/1340kg
---R8 LMS ultra '12 528bhp/1250kg
---R8 LMS ultra (Audi Sport Team Phoenix) '12 528bhp/1250kg
---R8 LMS ultra 15th Anniv '12 591bhp/1250kg

630PP GT3 at Mount Panorama:

586PP - 2:07.962 063 - Audi R8 LMS - Team Oreca '10 - RH - MR - 528bhp - 1340kg

I don't see what all the fuss was about. Lovely car. Handles like a dream.
Seriously though it's not that bad. I think my problem was when it started to lose it on the exits I was lifting which made things worse. If you give it just a bit of welly it seems to get over itself and the grip returns like magic.

You're the first to try with that particular model but that looks like a good time. You're a second quicker than the other GT-Rs. I've put the numbers into the spreadsheet now (link in the OP).

Edit -

I had a quick go in the two anniversary cars. The Audi is rather impressive. The Nissan not so much.

JoelH! Nice time, mate! Not sure what your ghost line is, as it's considerably slower than a 2:04.4xx And it's not your fast time in the tuned Z4 either. Weird.

Down to 2:04.580 in the GT-R Base cause of you Joel. I had one little wiggle.

I updated the spreadsheet thing and fixed the GT-R's drivetrain layout. It's FR.

Great time Corey, not sure whats up with the ghost line? The only ghost line that should show up is my fast Z4 lap ?? My son in law was over yesterday and he was having a go on my account I presume.
Not sure how it works but if a slower lap was saved would that over ride the fastest ghost line? Anyway he is considerably slower than me. I wouldn't think it necessary but I will upload shot of the lap when I get home from work today :)

Thanks. My 04.094 still has some wiggles in important spots. There's a high 03 in this thing.

I kept wondering how I was pulling on ya but your super fast lap should have you way up there. But you're not. Maybe might be something about not being close enough to your fast time within 4 seconds or something like that I've read? So maybe it's your (or the son in law's) latest time? I can post up a picture if I need to. Doesn't matter really.
