This is a thread series for the seasonal time trials that focuses on completing the challenges (i.e. beating the gold target times) with stock versions of the cars. This means that instead of maximizing your PP with upgrades and focusing on getting the fastest laps on the in-game leaderboard, you are attempting to complete the challenges with the bare minimum amount of 'car' and money-spent as is possible.

With the new more open ended format means that part of the challenge will be finding a stock car that has the lowest PP or lowest price depending on your view. It is also difficult to predict which types of tires a car will come with before purchasing.

Warning: Some of these challenges are getting to be extreme and should be approached with caution! :banghead:

In order to participate your car must be stock.

1) A stock car is essentially any car as it is when purchased from the dealership or won as a prize: it will have had no modifications, added parts, or adjustments done that affect how the car performs.
2) No oil changes are permitted: if you have had an oil change you must wait until the effects of the HP boost have been removed by driving over 300 km.
3) You must use the original tire type that came with the car, unless dirt or snow tires are required.
4) No changes to any “Car Settings” are permitted: they must ALL be left at their default values. [Note: cars that come with Fully Customizable Suspension that were purchased or won prior to patch 1.11 must have the suspension settings restored to default in order to be updated with the new stock suspension settings.]
5) No SRF or ASM is permitted: other “Driver Assists” are permitted.

Basically, the ONLY changes you may make to a car include: painting the car and changing a car’s racing number. Any other changes means your car is not stock.

Stock Seasonal Time Trials #33:

American Non-Race Cars Super Lap: 1:00.000 - London - 500PP - SH

Ferrari F40 Super Lap: 1:31.000 - Apricot Hill - 550PP - SH

The Stock Seasonal Spreadsheet:
A few members have begun a leaderboard of sorts where individuals will be able to input their info into a public document. This is not so much a competition as a way to compare all sorts of data. At this point the data that is recorded for entries is as follows:

PP - Lap Time - Car (try to include manufacturer) - Tires - Drive - Power - Weight

Link to the GTP Stock Seasonal Spreadsheet:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1kDEW2OWUxHfq9PTR4G4-HKXl3veLfq0sXhvwiPYMUGw/

Notes about the Spreadsheet:
Tabs will generally be ordered with the newest seasonal events at the left.
Gold times are ordered based first on PP (lowest PP at the top), and then lap time.
Bronze and Silver times are ordered based solely on lap time (fastest time at the top): these entries will be grayed out.
If you are comfortable with entering your info please do so.
Only create one entry per car for your best lap time for that car.
To add an empty line: right click (PC) on a gray row number box and select add a row above or below.
If you make a mistake or change something you did not mean to change hit undo once or a few times.

My results so far with a wheel and an automatic transmission:

500PP American at London:
454PP – 1:01.835 – Shelby GT350 ’65 – SH – FR – 304hp – 1270kg
486PP – 0:57.961 – Shelby Series One Super Charged ’03 – SH – FR – 319hp – 1202kg
463PP – 0:59.589 – Tesla Roadster ’08 – SH – MR – 277hp – 1238kg

I like the EV cars: everyone must use an automatic transmission. ;)

550PP Ferrari F40 at Apricot Hill:
528PP
– 1:30.775 – Ferrari F40 ’92 – SH – MR – 471hp – 1352kg

The F40’s steering/instability is very hard on the arms.

550PP Ferrari F40 at Apricot Hill:
544PP – 1:27.444 – Ferrari F40 ’92 – SH – MR – 478PS – 1112kg - Manual Gearbox with clutch

Not really an American car but I'll take it. Actually I think it's going to be tough finding many real American cars to do this.

Beast! I did a good silver on my first lap then it took about 10 laps to get another clean one.

Now it's correct @Hastatus :)
Now I aimed for your time and took me 200miles lol. My new time is 1:28.484 I'm much satisfied now and that's still with manual clutch G27. Thanks for the challenge, it was very hard!

Edit: New time is 1:28.041 ;)

Nicely done man
Later today I'll give it another go to see if I can improve :)

Edit: Improved to 1:28.145 :) it's really fun and challenging with the manual gearbox isn't it? ;)

Yeah very and it's hard because how tail happy it is. You pretty much have to drift the car in the corners lol. Looks like I'll have to push my self again. Here comes another 200miles!

Happy tail is the middle name of this car lol but I don't even try to drift, if you do it you lose time.
Go for it

Another 5 laps after 30 mins in the tuned car... I will get a 26 before the event closes :D

I get the impression you really like this car. I've had very little time this week but I did get a few laps in and improved to 1:29.4 but there's plenty left. I'm only just beginning to get to grips with it. The thing is I really want to have go with your tune too, and a replica tune, and stock on CS. It's good job the other TT is a bit dull.

I might like it a bit :D:D:D

Whether it's the tuned one, stock on SH tyres or stock on CS tyres, it's just such a perfect challenge to drive at the limit... make even a small mistake with your steering angle, or how hard you apply or release the brakes, or how you use the throttle and that mistake kills your lap. But if your mistake is small enough, you can correct it... go in a fraction too hard, and you can fix it with the brakes, get a fraction of understeer mid corner and you can fix it with a precise throttle lift... I simply love cars that always want to turn 👍

Perfect description ;)
Later this week I will try with the sequential gearbox to see how much difference it makes from the manual :)

Thanks

Not many gear changes with the stock cars gearing, but still think you'll find >0.5 with sequential... I'm so bad with manual in GT6 I reckon I'd lose a second, which is strange, as I've only ever owned 3 non manual cars in real life!

Getting closer to a 1'26, but it is proving a challenge - a 1'24 with the tuned car and a 1'30 with the stock car on comfort softs were both easier!
