I have a Xperia Z2 and use Chrome as a browser.

Since a couple of updates ago a strange bug has popped its ugly head up.

Whenever I type text like I am doing right now and I need to delete a part of it, as soon as I delete it the text reappears word for word after deleting it, so that I have to delete it twice. I have sent feedback to Chrome itself but I haven't heard anything from them yet.

Has anyone got a clue what could be going on, and if it could be a phone setting instead of a Chrome bug?

Edit.

Just downloaded Opera and there I can delete text without problems.

I always use chrome, but I have never seen this bug. May be something which appears specifically on the Z2.

Do you mark the text and delete everything with one tap? Or do you hold/spam backspace?

Yep @Dennisch I get this bug on my Tab S 8.4 (4.4.2) but strangely enough not on my Nexus 5 (5.0.1).
If you figure it out be sure to let us know, it's been driving me nuts.

I do think though that it's been happening a bit longer for me than just the last couple of Chrome updates on the tablet.

It doesn't matter. Marking or spamming. The text returns.

I will let you know.

Edit.

It's not just Chrome. Opera does it too.

Dammit.

I have now installed a third party keyboard app, SwiftKey, to see it that changes anything.

Edit.

That seems to do the trick. But I don't want any third party crap on my phone!

That is the main point of android.
You make it your own.

The amount of bug's in stock Android is really annoying, there the 'insufficient space on the device' one which really drives me nuts.

I have never run into that issue at all on my nexus 5(16GB) and I have fully fulled the space on it, just runs like a dog and starts warning you about low storage space when there is 2GB or so left.

I thought I was alone! My Z3 does this in Chrome, but not in Facebook Messenger or the standard Messenging app.

Hoping Lollipop fixes it when it releases.
