Hi all
can anyone give me any tips / advice on how to place stripes over the roof so that they line up with stripes that I have placed on the boot and bonnet .

Every time I try and do it . It is ever so slightly off from lining up square with the other stripes .

Please help . Thanks
Mike

How to get perfect stripes 101:

Select roof view.

Projection Method should be set to Align with Camera.

Select a shape.

Begin stretching.

Set Projection Area: Max out both the angle and depth limit.

Move to one side and duplicate on reverse.

Go to Bonnet Edit Area.

Align with Camera and place a shape.

Make it meet the one you placed on Body.

Set Projection Area again. This time it’s enough to increase the angle limit.

Voila. Perfect stripes every time, using only two layers.

Don’t need stripes over the whole car? Just take back the stretching a notch after you’ve aligned the hood stripes.

If you have a steady hand...

got to Front View or Rear View.
Set projection to align with camera.
Scroll the analogue stick up and move the camera to a flatter surface upwards.
It works for me everytime.

Wish there was a way to rotate camera view and or decal 90 degrees precisely though
Would be very handy for this

Best way to achieve this is to start from either front or rear view and angle the camera straight down. It's fairly easy to keep the stick locked to center while rotating vertically so you don't have to worry about and horizontal rotation.

Why rotate and why have the camera set to a position where you almost can’t see anything. Top view is the best because it covers the largest area to view at once. And when you scale it you just scale it sideways. Once you’ve covered the car just drag the camera down to either front or back when tweaking the projection so you can see you’ve got full coverage.

To each their own of course. :)

as I've literally said above. Got to front or rear view and tilt the camera to give a birds eye view

This is true but the stick rotation can sometimes still happen even only minutely and then you only notice when you do something fine at the end

Wish you could use the arrows aha like hold down r1 and use the areows to control camera instead of only the menus

Having to adjust the angle when turning

Hm? You don't need to adjust any angle except the camera angle when the stripes are done. Should be the right angle out of the box. I'm not sure I understand what you mean.

Well it's worked for me every time. You should have a crosshair lines that cross the center of the car's badge or other hood/bumper emblems. It should be clear if you get some unwanted rotation.

just do the front and back first with stripes extending as far as they can go towards the roof from each bumper, then switch to roof view, place and rotate the stripes 90 degrees and zoom in to line them up on the trunk and hood...
