That is great, I love new hires and screwing with them. When we didtech support we did that a lot to them. I use to manager the new hires coming in and train them to do tech support. The stuff you can get them to do. But after a little while we started messing with them a ton. This one guy went to lunch and I jumped on his computer and basically turned it into a windows help computer. . . after it rebooted though I had it setup to be a calculator. The guy gets back in and clicks start to log back in and it only comes up with help. he goes to turn off active desktop nothing. . . he starts scratching his head and comes to me. I tell him to reboot and poof calculator only. he move a total of 5 times that day with us messing with him.Originally posted by GilesGuthrie
Yeah, you have to check the actual cabling. In my experience, the actual connectors on crossover cables are a little longer.
On a related note, we always tell gullible users and new IT staff the patch cable rules:
Red: Can only carry print jobs
Yellow: Must be aligned in a North-South direction
Grey: Only work at weekends, best steer clear of them.
Etc etc.
Yeah, sure, right. You and your crazy lingo...Originally posted by MistaY
You crimped them then.
