You don't get selected. You have to qualify in top 16 in your region on the final round (8-5).

The title says it all here. Its easy for big companies (even us) to do a reverse phone number look up. All they need is your postal code or address and they can match your phone number associated with it.

We as the public can even do this through certain websites but most of them charge a fee.
