I'm trying to copy a CD. It simply won't copy. I'm using Nero Burning Rom. The CD is Linkin Park Meteora. It has some sort of protection on it, that I can't get around. I think that's the reason it's not working. When I try put the tracks into the copy section, I notice the files are in .cda format. I don't know if that's what it's meant to be or not. When it comes to computers, I'm a caveman, I don't know a thing about them. This is really starting to bug me.

Help really, really, really needed. Thanx in advance.

I've told you a million times before that CD is copy protected. You can't burn it. If you're lucky, you might be able to rip the tracks as waves and then burn them.

Download

Insert CD, open CD, highlight all the files, OK, select WAV, hit Rip. I would recommend using Exact Audio Copy, but that's an arse to set up...

if it's a sony CD, there's only one way I know of to get around the copy protection and I'm not sure if they fixed that issue. You gotta get a sharpie and go around the outside border of the cd. The outer edge has come crap on it that computers can't read and that fudges up the rip process. Cover it up with a marker and that problem goes away.

I guess it's not a sony cd. Use DBPoweramp or EAC and rip as wav then to cd

The law is that you are allowed to make one personal copy (I believe he owns the original). He made no indication of what he wanted to do with it.

Why does he use so many "really" then? He can surely just play the original.

I copied it for a friend.

Thats a nono. I believe the law states that you are allowed to make a copy for yourself only. Not for other people.

Edit: Is the cd his or yours?

Artists only make about 13 cents per cd. They get all their money through touring around the country, because you cant rip or copy a live concert.. ;)
