Hello everyone,
Just wondering if anyone has experience tuning the 22b subaru. I've been tuning it on tsukuba for days and can't get any lower than a 52.024 lap. Does anyone have a lower time and will you please share your settings? Thanks a bunch.

Heres my tune so far.I changed a few things since the 52 second lap so it may be a little faster.

Gary

i tuned it once.., i have to say, it has a different feel than its WRX STi brothers.., it kind of understeers under full throttle when turning, and it is a bit difficult to drive.., can you post your setup here, so that we might help you out??

Yes i noticed the understeer, but what STi doesnt have that lol. They both have there own personality when it comes to cornering though. My 2002 STi could whip around corners when just letting off the gas and turning at the right speed. The 22b is very different i agree it seems harder to tune this ones suspension but the speed is not a problem. Im trying to minimize the understeer with a combo of downforce, rear diff, and suspension but its being so stubborn. This car took all of my focus off my RX-7 Spirit R which i was a little upset about but then again i cant give up on my Scooby's.

If the part isn't mentioned, it wasn't in the car. So yes, I did use standard diff and no VCD. IMO, most of this games 4WD's work better without..

I ran your set-up and did a 50.872 lap. Changing the wing setting to 30/30 and the lap goes down to a 49.843. The gear is maxing out before the end of the long straight. With same gear changes to 5th and 6th the car should pick up a good .300 of a second or more with more driving.

Try these settings for the differentials:
Front
Initial torque: 21
Acceleration: 45
Deceleration: 14
Rear
Initial torque: 11
Acceleration: 31
Deceleration: 5
These are still work-in-progress. By coincidence, I'm also working on my own tarmac-spec GC8 Impreza.

I've noticed the gears. The car goes to 137mph and then slows you back down right before you want to slow down for the turn. I still have a lot of work to do just on the transmission. A 49 second run with maxed downforce is great news. Thanks for trying out my tune.

Thanks for the diff. settings, i'll be sure to try those out. Good luck with your impreza.

about your setup:

you're using R5's??? no wonder, try R3's instead, they work better.., 👍 also, try softening the shock absorbers and stabilizers.., high settings of those make the car too rigid, it won't hug the road thus making your car understeer.., use higher ride height too.., 👍

i stand corrected.., i didn't know his car was for time attacks.., ;)

you can also put R5s in the front and R4 in rear to decrease rear grip. or decrease rear camber and putting (-) negative toe on the rear. those are the tricks i use to tune my cars and i love me STIs (look at username).

Tyre staggering is questionable method to make car turn. I prefer to overcome turning issues with suspension/LSD/VCD/Balance weight/downforce adjustments.. and if everything else fails, sometimes more or less power if possible.

normally doing that makes an almost undrivable car but if it is the only way to do it, its what needs to be done.

Thanks for all the advice everyone. I will be using all this to find a great tune for my 22b (which i now own 2 of) :). I will updating the specs later in the week after tons of testing and then again when i finally get a logitech wheel. I hate driving with my controller.

Btw are any of you subaru guys interested in making a Subaru specific tuning garage? Go Scoobies!!!!
