The Subaru Leone was Subaru's best selling model until the Legacy came along to replace it. It was offered in 3 bodystyles and was also the basis for the BRAT, and it is often referred to by trim name instead of model.

At the top of the lineup was the RX, which started from the second generation. This model would be used to homologate the Leone for the World Rally Championship, with only 2600 RX's being built. The RX-II was the improved model based on the 3rd Gen Leone, with full time AWD and a 95HP 1.8 Inline 4 (There was also a turbo model)

The Leone RX saw some success in the World Rally Championship, including winning the the Safari Rally for 6 consecutive years (1980-1986), before being replaced by the Legacy RS in 1990.

...Oi, what happened there? Looks serious. A riot? A misplaced cigarette butt? Raging against the machine?
^ The GL Touring had a leaking oil gasket, so the car smokes everytime it takes a hard corner. Something sparked it and there you go. :(
