I want to buy a driving wheel to play GT5P and GT5 when it will be released
Is there something comparable to the logitech driving force GT and maybe less expensive:confused:
thank you for your help;)

You may want to consider the Driving Force Pro... It's the previous model of the DFGT but it still has the major features: 900 degree steering, force feedback, the shifter and PC compatibility (No dials). Plus, it has something the DFGT doesn't: 200 degree steering hardware lock, for use with games on the PS3 with no option to change it.

Fanatec, Best bang for money, its only 50 dollars more and can be compared to G25, you get Clutch, shifter, and more buttons on wheel over G25. So yeah only 50 dollars more, and most important, NO DEAD ZONE.

pretty much the alternatives you got. Or if you can find a G25 used of course.

Never buy used, especially G25, there are many breakdowns and issues with aged G25s. And even so a used one can still run you a lot of money, The 911 150 USD wheel is best choice to go with.
But if the 150 is too much for you, go with the Old DFP, sure its like day and night difference, but DFP does it job and its 100 dollars brand new.

If you're gonna go for the DFP, you may as well drop the extra 20 bucks and get a GT. you can usually find it for like 119.99 on like amazon or other sites with free shipping.

Yeah 👍
lol
But then he could drop another 30 bucks for 911 budget wheel lol

It all depends how serious of SIM fan you are, decent wheel may imporve lap times, not by seconds, but by 1/2-1/10 by being more accurate.

But DFP is notoriously slow when coming out of a corner, so it will mess up lap times.

I was looking on the site and I can't find that wheel. Could you please post a link to that item where the price is listed?

Good choice!

That Fanatec wheel is not out yet, in couple of months, I dont know exact date.
Sim Racing tonight did the Preview of the whee, and they loved it, But, they mention I think 130 USD price tag, and on Fanatec Site it says 150.

Top Right corner, EURO Price is from 149 - 199, and US price is 149

I think I'll wait until the GT5 release I don't know maybe there will be a pack that includes GT5 and the driving force GT

Yeah, as well there were a lot of rumors about full GT5 game with GT-25. So the wait might work out great for you. And you might save up bit of cash to because of bundles.

I really want that fanatec wheel but I may as well wait for GT5 to come out before buying a new wheel. I got the GT in a prologue bundle but I have a feeling the GT5 bundle will just be with the DFGT at a new promo price. I guess if that happens I can buy the fanatec wheel then.

Yeah sometimes its better to wait. Lets see what GT5 full game will have. You might be right just cheaper DFGT

* Powerful Mabuchi RS 550 ForceFeedback motor

Wow thats impressive for a ForceFeedback electric motor, a bit off topic but the old Tamiya and Kyosho radio control cars used to come with Mabuchi RS 540 motors. These were installed in the 1/18" scale models and pushed the cars to speeds on 20+mph. My wife would kill me if I asked for a Fanatec after getting the G25 but........may have to look into it.

Yeah I had to GOOGLE the motor before highlighting it.
This cheap wheel can be compared to G25, But that 911 Carrera wheel is one of the cheapest from Fanatec, so yeah it compares to G25, But it may not be better in few things. As well on the Beta version of the wheel, its really LOUD when turning..

Here is little preview from the SRT guys.

So yeah so far it seems way better then DFP/GT
And it seems equal with G25.

If you want better wheel from Fanatec that is trully better then G25, you will have to spend bit more money. Myself, I pre-ordered the GT3 RS Clubstport + shifters it $352 USD total with delivery, not bad compared to the other 911 Turbo S wheel which is 500 dollars! But Turbo S is designed for multi platform play. GTR RS is more for PC gaming, and some PS3 titles.

I am worried about RS may not be compatible with FULL GT5 game, but I think it will be because so far GT5P work on it confirmed by Fanatec.

But in the end, Wait less then one more year for GT5 release, who knows maybe LOGITEC might come with new wheel design with improved buttons, shifter and pedals over G25 or maybe Fanatec will create something new too who knows. For me, I did not wait, because I am not married, I always try to save some money for myself, so I enjoy my G25, soon I'll enjoy my RS wheel, and in another 1.5-2 years of time I'll buy something new too! lol

The guy did say that it replaced his G25. I guess the main issue is this:

*If you want the real-time adjustment knob (in addition to more buttons), go DFGT

*If you want a clutch and H-pattern shifter, go fanatec

Of course, if you are using on PC as well, you can always make a standalone shifter + clutch.

On fanatec there are buttons on the wheel, on some wheels they light up, some dont, RS and I think the cheap one dont light up. I wonder if you can adjust them in GT5P menu so that you can make real time adjustments on the go. It works with G25.

I'm sure you can configure the buttons how you wish, there just aren't as many of them. And the cheaper wheel does not light up.
