I only have GT4 for a few days now and currently my Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VII GSR has these settings on:

SUSPENSION:

Spring Rate - 15.0 / 15.0
Ride Height - 92 / 96
Damper - N/A / N/A
Damper (Bound) - 1 / 1
Damper (Rebound) - 10 / 10
Camber Angle - 1.3 / 1.0
Toe Angle - 0 / -0.5
Stabiliser - 6 / 6

Brake Balance - 8 / 14

DRIVING AIDS:

ASM (Oversteer) - 10
ASM (Understeer) - 10
TCS Controller - 7

WEIGHT BALANCE:

Weight Ballast:

Ballast Weight - 0
Front/Rear Balance - 0

VCD Controller - 25
AYCC - 0

LSD Initial - 10 / 10
LSD Accel - 40 / 40
LSD Decel - 20 / 40

Gear Ratio:

1st - 2.892
2nd - 2.033
3rd - 1.523
4th - 1.195
5th - 0.977
6th - 0.836

FINAL - 4.529

AUTO - 24

This is almost a 1:1 copy of the settings I used in GT3 and the car set up was perfect in that game. It was able to dive into corners and accelerate out without losing much speed or grip. Now when I transferred this into GT4 the cornering ability is hideously slow and at times suffer understeer on sharp corners. I tried switching off the ASM but it made understeer much worser. So any suggestions on curing this problem woud be appreciated.

Change the vcd to 10 % in the front and adjust the front LSD to 05 / 10 / 05 . turn off the ASM and set the traction controll to 03 or turn it off ..you have 4 wd why do you need it ?
set your spring rate back to default for the custom suspension or 8.8 fr 7.3 rear and the shocks to 06 bound and rebound - front and rear . set camber to 2.8 fr and 2.3 rear
set stabilizers at 05 / 05 toe zero and the brake controller at 08 / 08. The ride height is good at 98 f/r
