Dear mother of God - it's Godzilla!!

Taller and stronger than Yao Ming and Shawn Bradley - this 7'9 monster (21) is training to come into the NBA ( I heard he is in the draft - but I have yet to see his name on the NBA draft list). To read more about him go to http://www.news-record.com/sports/local/bkbtraining_041305.htm .

Here is some pictures...

"In other news, the Lakers will work out 7-foot-8, 360-pound Chinese center Sun Ming Ming on Friday. The Clippers also are expected to attend. The 21-year-old Sun, considered a project, has played organized basketball for only four years.

Sun has been training in Greensboro, N.C., the past two months and will enter June's NBA draft. He is flying through Los Angeles on his way to play in China's national games and will work out against former USC center Rory O'Neil. "

That's just ridiculous.

Good thing he's played only in the Chinese leagues, or he could mean some serious trouble.

I've seen the second photo of him before. Did you know that the guy in front of him is his trainer? That short looking trainer is actually a 7' tall! :scared:

He's actually trying to come to the NBA. Rumors about him in the draft - but when I went to see the official list of the players eligable for the draft he wasn't in it.

He'll probably be a free agent, then some team would probably take him. Like in my first post - the Lakers and Clippers seem to be interested. Imagine Kobe + Sun Ming Ming. Ha-ha.

Portland Blazers has this center in Europe. I think he was either Lithuanian or Croatian, I forget. :ouch: His name is Sinanovic, and is listed at 7'4". He's being developed in European League, but comes over to the States for the Blazers Summer League team. Sinanovic could probably take on Sun Ming Ming.

Also, Sun is eligible for FA, only if he goes undrafted. Like you said, there will be a team that's going to take a gamble on him. Heck, I wouldn't mind the Blazers burning the second round pick on this giant, but we are kind of overloaded with centers right now. We have Joel Przybilla(starter), Theo Ratliff, Ha Seung-Jin(7'3" S. Korean project) on the roster already. :)

I've read that he can't even keep up with the pace in the Chinese Basketball Association. He's seriously, seriously slow apparently.

Still, someone will fall in love with his height. Just keep him at the offensive end of the floor and chuck outlet passes to him for easy dunks.

I've heard that too. Arvydas Sabonis was one slow center, but he's the best European player I've ever seen. I wonder if Sun's even slower? could he still be effective with his speed?

Unbelievable, he didn't get drafted. He must be really bad, out on the floor.

The Heat's starting power forward, Haslem, was undrafted, and he's come into his own in just a couple years. Maybe this guy can do the same, just has to adapt to the NBA more. He only trained for 2 months, after all.
