Welcome to Round 5 of the Super GT Championship. Returning from the one week break following a very exciting race at Indy, our next stop is our first and only night race of the season at Special Stage Route 5. The night time only begins to highlight the difficulty of the track as its also a deceptively fast Street circuit with many sweeps and tight corners. Visibility is at a premium so drivers will to pay very close attention to their surroundings.

General Information and Regulations

All rules, regulations, car specifications, and races are controlled by SuperGT sanctioning body, GTMSA. Any and all questions should be directed to GTMSA officials (namely me RACECAR) and officials will do their best to answer in a timely and accurate manner.

All drivers must run at the specified weights and horsepower settings provided by GTMSA for each round. Horsepower and/or weight settings are adjusted for competitive reasons each round based on finishing positions from previous rounds.

  • Standard Online Racing Rules Apply.
  • No Cheating, etc.
  • Try keeping at least 2 wheels on course. Long races = small mishaps, but absolutely NO shortcuts
  • While close racing is accepted, it will also be monitered so mind yourselfs on track. Penalties will be enforced for any behavior considered avoidable contact or rough driving.
  • All decisions by GTMSA officials are final

Special Round revisions

  • Success Ballist is back into effect for this points paying round.
  • Because this is a night race, Navigating traffic will be more important. Drivers in GT300 are strongly advised to pull to the side as soon as a GT500 car gets within the distance of your bumper going into the corner. If on a Straight, give the faster car the inside line.

  • ASM is prohibited. TCS, Skid Recovery and Active Steering is optional

Sorry for not posting this earlier, but RACECAR had a power outage at his location and I was unable to get on to GTPlanet earlier. But I do have my Lounge open for anyone interested in doing some practice for Sunday's race right now.

As for Final practice, I'll be opening my Lounge up at about 2 PM US EDT or 1800 GMT for Final Practice on Sunday.

My Lounge is open for Final Practice if anyone needs some time to tune their cars for the lace later on today.

I'm having connection problems right now (just 🤬 great) so I may not make it. Chris, you'll have to start the race for me.

Unofficial Results:
1. GTP_LancerEvo7 - GT300 - ARTA Garaiya
2. The_Boyce - GT300 - Asparadrink RX-7 (+12 seconds)
3. GTP_CAMikaze - GT300 - ARTA Garaiya (+18 seconds)
4. GTP_ranhammerR34 - GT300 - Cusco Dunlop Impreza (+2 Laps)
(5). GTP_RACECAR - GT500 - Xanavi Nismo Z (DNQ due to disconnection)

Maybe the GT500 drivers can make it up on Saturday before Practice?

Might as well not even count me since technically I didn't even start. Now its on to Suzuka for the Enduro.

Okay, results are up. Obviously GT500 gets no look for points for obvious reasons, but GT300 is getting interesting. While I'm pretty much sure Lancer has GT300 locked up before we even reach High Speed Ring, battle for 2nd is heating up with CAMikaze and The Boyce tied. Also a few notes:

  • Due to the disappearing problem I have heard and actually witnessed a few times myself, SSR5 will be dropped from next season's Schedule, replacement will be made at a later date.
  • The enduro race at Suzuka will be on the Weather change course, it is still being decided as to if it'll have rain or just overcast skies.
  • Success Ballist is currently under review
  • Entry list for the Polka 1000 to be published May 23rd, the day after the championship concludes.
