Super Speedway

[ToyGTone]

Back in Gran Turismo 2 and Gran Turismo 3, Polyphony Digital made a "Original" Oval track called Super Speedway. It's total length of 2404m in Gran Turismo 3 and 2406m in Gran Turismo 2, With Straight Length of 600m (GT2).

The Track layout (Not the Scenery) had similar Oval Layout compared to Motegi Super Speedway which then replaced this track in GT4, GT5 (DLC) and GT6.

Okay i'll admit, it's a bit useless to add this track but still better than nothing right? at least it has more difference between this, motegi and other oval track compared to the HUGH amount of Skylines.

Well apart from the layout, there's some difference.

I haven't noticed any differences between the GT3 & GT4 versions.

even the Scenery? because at some parts of the track, the motegi feels a bit empty while this one feels more filled with stuff like signs, building's, pit land, spectators...etc

But would you want an entirely different track just for the scenery? I don't really care how good/bad the scenery is on any track of any game, just how good the track is to drive and if there is no difference then I don't see why it should be added.

Love the super speedway. I prefer the GT2 version with the enclosed final turn. But since the Motegi Speedway is already here, I'm afraid the old version will not come back. But it still gets my vote though 👍

Yes, I miss this Super Speedway. I always have preferred the old version from GT2 more than any other including the Twin Ring Motegi track. The part I really liked was that roof you drive under, the painted lines in the road, and the huge surroundings, that was the best touch! 👍 The track does have similarities to the Twin Ring Motegi version, but it's just not the same.

Also ToyGTone, one thing I should note is the "GT2 version" of this track was in an old demo of GT3.

I wish they did bring this oval back - Northern Isle is way too short
There also existed a reverse layout hidden in GT2. GTP's own Xenn made a video on it a decade ago



The track is mostly functional albeit with no pit lane and broken AI.
