Super Taikyu International -- Car Homologation and Interest Check

This is essentially a continuation of an old thread relating to FIA GT3. That series has gone under and in an attempt to save face I've teamed up with veteran race director GN+ who has been running Super Taikyu in Japan for some seven years. A completely refurbished field with more of a realistic car list is set to debut for the first time using GT4. If you are interested in the concept keep an eye on this thread as it will be constantly expanding with information. When car homologation is complete expect to see a sign-up thread to be posted by GN+ or myself.

Clearly all I'm good for is a stupid sarcastic sense of humor and the odd bad joke. Bare with me. Moving right along... for now, this link you should be familiar with GT3 Thread turned sudo ST homologation thread.

A translated official Super Taikyu site. Maybe it can provide some info that could attract the purists who want to see a "realistic" or "mirror" series.

ST3: Mazda RX-7 (Class Mods) + Exhaust and Air Filter: Racing, Port Polish and Enigne Balance.

To answer your question about Altezza.
Yes, in real life ST5 times and ST4 times usually blend together, it's not far off to say that ST5 finishes ahead most of the time. ST5 is also known as ST-S, or in JAF terminology, GNplus.

P.S. I've been working on the ST4 civics. I guess just a little note to all, just because we haven't homologated a car doesn't mean you can't run it. If you would like to know approximate performance levels of a class and average class specs relating to, for instance horsepower, just ask GN+ or myself (better off asking GN+ he is the knowledgable one) and you can set out designing the car of your dreams for Super Taikyu action!

P.P.S Have fun at the Brickyard Randy! I'm flying out to New York next week to see the Watkins Glen race. It was originally with the only intention to watch the sports cars, but this will be my first NASCAR event! I'm SUPER excited!

P.P.P.P.P.P.P.P.P.P.P.P.S (I wonder if that was overdoing it...) I guess there is intended to be a lot of blending classes. That way you'll always be racing against someone. That is pretty cool. I'm liking this series more and more!

EDIT: By the end of today, I will have confirmed. ST1 Corvette, and the ST4 RX-8. I am currently seeking information regarding those two cars. If you look at the "so-net" Taikyu link I posted at the top of the thread and look under Team Profiles you'll see that A&S RACING run a C6 in ST1, and P.D.S.P TEAM MAZDA RX-8 run a Mazda RX-8 in ST4.

@ GN+:For ST4 I've hooked up a Mazda RX-8 Type E (quickly becoming my favorite RX-8) and I've actually done something a little out of the ordinary for it. I've equiped it with a supercharger and I was wondering if that seems a little TOO out of the ordinary, thoughts?

Here is a little class breakdown for those interested.

ST1: Cars with engines 3501cc and greater. Production derived, full fledged racing machines. Drive train is open. Forced induction is legal if factory stock, or in an attempt to equalize the cars. For our purposes (as the following cannot be changed in GT4), driver position, engine location and drive must remain stock. Engine capacity may be increased to allow for cars to enter the class (e.g. Nissan Skyline.)

ST2: Cars with engines 2001cc-3500cc. Modified production cars. Cars must be 4WD and equipped with forced induction from the factory. The following must remain stock, driver position, engine location, drive train and engine capacity.

ST3: Cars with engines 2001cc-3500cc. Modified production cars. FWD and RWD are welcome. Engines must remain in stock position but rear, middle and front engine configurations are legal. Four wheel drive (4WD or AWD) is legal so long as the car does not use forced induction.

ST4: Cars with 2001cc and less. Modified production cars. Must be front wheel drive(FWD). Engine position must remain stock. Front engine-front wheel drive configuration is mandatory.

ST5: Cars with 2001cc and less. Modified production cars. FWD and RWD are welcome. Engines must remain in stock position and only front engine configuration is legal.

Now that is a vague outline but it is merely a snippet from a document I'm writing regarding the series. Look for it to be linked up soon as possible.

hi. I have to say this series is looking to be pretty well thought out. Now I know its not completely finalized yet, and I'll deffinitely keep my eye out for sign ups. BUT, I was curious as if I could think of some cars to run myself in some classes, or if I'd have to keep exactly to whats listed as car choices?

I've just got back to the site after about a days absence and it would appear as if a lot has happend. Now, I believe GN+ has answered your question with the Super Taikyu info and sign-up thread. In there you will find all information you need. We'd like to keep "custom" car entries to a minimum at least untill we have ... I don't know, half of each class filled.

You have to decide, with in the limits of what has been posted under each upgrade section, what parts you should put on the car to optimise its performance for you. That way out Taikyu series will be more like the real Taikyu series, not RX-7 is going to be exactly the same. It adds a wildcard as cars will have distinct advantages and disadvantages, especially with our tire rule.
