Ford GT ‘05

¼ mile time: 0’11.275
Apricot Hill Raceway Lap Time: 1’32.021
Top Speed: 217.67mph
Power: 550BHP/6500rpm
Price: Cr. 149,880
Type: MR
Weight: 1451kg

During the top speed test the GT just glided around the track. I managed to reach 190mph before I got to the first turn and carried it through reaching 210mph as soon as I got back onto the straight the speed slowly increased and managed to get the 217mph.

The track I tested the Ford on was Apricot Hill, a track with a few interesting turns here and there. The car doesn’t have the best handling in the world and the car tends to slide through the cars almost refusing to turn. The 1’32.021 lap time was due to the car sliding onto the sand on a few of the turns. The car is like many American muscle cars, it doesn’t have good handling. The brakes arn't the best either, i had to brake alot earlier than normal in order to only just make the turn.

Pagani Zonda C12S 7.3 '02

¼ mile time: 0'11.217
Apricot Hill Raceway Lap Time: 1'27.379
Top Speed: 202.39mph
Power: 547BHP/5900rpm
Price: Cr. 631,680
Type: MR
Weight: 1250kg

The Zonda took awhile to reach 200mph going round the first bend the car was cruising at around 195mph but as soon as i got back onto the straight the speed slowly (and when i say slowly i mean slowly) got to 200mph and only just managed to reach the top speed of 202mph. This is very dissapointing compared to the Ford GT's 217 mph.

The Zonda just glided around the turns at apricot hill. There wasn't one error throught, it easily beats the GT and even managed to get a better lap time. The car brakes like any normal car would theres no early braking involved with this car. It just walks all over the GT as far as handling and braking is concerned.

Im sorry there isnt very much detail here but this is my first comparison. Im gonna be comparing more cars soon so as more come they are certain to get better.

A picture speaks a thousand words, so don't worry about the length! 👍
First part's a simple top speed test so there's not much more you could do to flesh it out.
You could provide a little more detail on the differences between cars at Apricot Hill if you wanted to add anything, but it's good as it is in my opinion. :)

Welcome to GTPlanet!

Nice write up. JUst a suggestion for a next write up idea that i havent seen done. How about comparing the different production Zondas to se how much the performance increases with the price. Just an idea.

Nice first writeup. Can I ask what tyres you tested on? Reason I ask is because I had similar figures for the Ford (11.8 for the 400m but 220mph top speed) and quite different figures for the Zonda (12.4 for the 400m but a 215mph top speed), both tests were on N2 tyres and after an oil change. My slower accel in the Ford can easily be down to driver talent but I am surprised that my Zonda S accelerates so much slower but has a much higher top speed. If you tested on different tyres then I would be interested to know because I can then do some tyre tests and see if different tyres have an impact on top speed. It could also be down to mileage I suppose.

i just kept everything stock i didnt even do an oil change. I tested the cars straight out of the showroom and the figures i got were around about the same so he must of done the same or similar.
