33 laps eh?

Just give me a sec to transfer my Mojo back where it belongs, and I'll be ready!:)

Neil

The only thing I am worried about is the ASL does not get as good of tire wear that the rx7's.(not sure about the toyota because I never tested that). But the ASL does get farly quick times. Surprising to see the toyota's in front. I thought they would be towards the back based on my infrance.

33 laps, woah time to get serious  And I get the -1Hp penalty, eh? *gulp!* GL all!
One question, do we have to set the AI difficulty to +10, or is it optional again?

we Toyota drivers are quick. and i'm going to catch that Laz yet!

As for tire wear, i've done some tests, and i'm looking at either a 2 or 3 stopper. :)

GT500 is going to be tough. The Supra pushes worse than a bulldozer. but that might just be me getting used to 200 extra horses.

Hehe, all that trouble to lift the HP penalty only to have again for winning pole. Thats gotta suck big time.

Hmm, so you gain an air restrictor penalty for taking pole, not just winning the race? That's a new addition. Should make things...interesting...and dangerous :)

*nods uncontrollably* lol ya but its fineGT300 has the same thing going on too. Any1 know if we can adjust that AI diff. or if it has to be set at +10?

Says +10 in the settings bit Jerome, so I would say that, that is what you should have it set to.

Any choice AI setting is only for qualifying I believe.

Hey Neil the number of laps should give you a nice advantage, I can only get 8 good laps on RM's but I can get 9 on a run if I'm careful. You'll probably do 2 runs of RM's then a short run on RS's while all my laps will be on RM's. Guess that's why I started calling you "The Tire King" which is from a local TV ad here in FL.

/\ Man I only get 6 laps out of RM's and they break on me at the left sweeper :guilty: But I can get RS's to go 5 laps and they break on me at the hairpin before T3. Some of you guys planning on pitting only 3 times, I can't seem to drive like that, I just get tired of fighting the tires constantly to turn. But on the flip side I have to really nail each lap to stay ahead of you guys :/ I'll be running RS's, like the qualifying, do we get another point for fastest race lap, I'm assuming so just wanted to dbl check. I'm hoping to break into the 1:12's in RS's as I could get 1:13's on RM's, but that -1hp may keep me at about 1:13 flat. Can't wait to get started.

Jerome

Uhh...am I misunderstanding you or did you run the qualifying on RS's? :odd:

sorry UNlike qualy's, lol.....what I meant was like in the qualifying session, we got a bonus point for having the fastest lap, does the same happen in the race as well? I was on RM's in the qualy, sorry for the confusion Z.

Jerome

LMAO, I too had a 6:19 with the HP penalty in affect :yuck: The race will be interesting for sure.

Jerome

Whoa, tire wear set to strong, and 33 laps????? Hmm, i can't see me lasting long on RS, RM, or RH tyres, in short, i'm in trouble! :guilty: Oh well, i'll give it my best shot, got an hour and a bit now before my sleep to get some times in, so good luck everyone! :)

Joe

GT300 banker race in. Good time, no real incidences (had a 4w off twice, once passing the Loctite NSX as lapped traffic) but maybe 3-4s total off. Need to try a different tyre strategy. I'm pretty happy with what i got, but a different strategy is on the books. Best lap in the low 1:18s so pretty happy.

I'm PISSED! The stupid AI went into the dirt and swerved right at me at T1 and I barely nipped his tail just after I pitted on lap 26, so I had to re-pit. That is no fun, not in the least :grumpy:

Jerome

Bummer Jerome, that happens an awful lot in this series and usually at the end of the run. Your tire problem Jerome is from countless weeks running the WRS, running hotlaps every week kills your tire management skills. Ask Neil he gets more laps the anyony else here, he'll probably do a one pit here :)

he's going to pit? I thought that he'd slap some hard compound tires on and just go straight through.

Although, he's used to the Mild tire wear of the Historic Group C, hmm...

Yeah that is the whole reason why I am here. I did a race on RS's and did okay by my standards, but having to pit 6 times....I know I'll likely get the fastest lap there as everyone else prolly has common sense to stay away from them. It worked at Trial Mountain with pitting twice. But if RM's is faster overall by pitting only 4 times, I'll use 'em. I can really get some great laps in the RS's tho, ATLEAST 1.5 seconds faster than my fastest lap on RM's thus far. I have much to learn about tire wear then on top of that its strong tire wear *runs and hides in the corner sucking his thumb - "Mommy!"* lol, let the learn-err punishment begin.

Jerome

I tried two different pitting strategy,a 2- and a 4-stopper.The difference is only 6 seconds and the better one is the 4-stopper.
So Jerome maybe it is not a bad decision to go on Soft tyres, but I think the best solution will be a 3-stopper on harder compounds.

I did a 3 pit run on RM's, had to push the first stint to 9 laps, then 8 for the rest.

Man, I can only get 6 out Med's, but that is pushing them a lot. Pitting less is only better until my lap times in faster tires makes up for the extra pit stops. I mean if I am 2 seconds faster on Softs per lap x33, and lets say that time is like 65 seconds, but 2 pit stops saves me only 60, then I'm faster by 5 seconds on softer tires...or atleast that is my thinking on it :)

Har, har!

Ahem! I actually have done my first run, and pitted 4 times! Using RM fronts and RS rears for the first 3 stints, then RS's on both for the rest. 7/8/8/5/5 laps per.

I can get 10 or 10 1/2 laps out of the mediums if I take it easy, but it's just not fast enough overall.

Yeah that's how I calculate it, although you want to also remember that you have in and out laps for every pit (meaning more of them with more pits).

We can thank Shotgun later for (probably deliberately) picking an odd lap number just to throw out all the easy pit strategies 👍

For me I kind of have to run a softer compound in the back and a harder compound in front. That my sound stupid but if I dont the car is like it is on an ice rink. Best ive done with RM's and RH's were a 3-stopper.

Actually that's pretty common in GT300. The cars have less power and so tend to wear the rears very slowly. I did the same in the Asparadrink RX-7 in the first season.
