Suspension Noob Question

Hey, I'm trying to figure out the different parts of tuning bit by bit, I read the sticky guide posted around here (it's a PDF document for GT4\Prologue)

The guy explains everything in pretty good detail, my only problem is I can't notice any difference to the car when messing around with suspension setting :\

I don't drive irl so that might have something to do with it, I have tried making them extremely dead and extremely tight to see any difference but I think the car just wobbles a bit more when I make it dead soft.

What exactly am I looking for when adjusting suspension settings? I'm using a Driving Force GT wheel if that makes any difference.

also merry xmas an stuff :dopey:

Your looking for increased control and increased grip and ultimately faster lap times.

The circuit you test at will make a big difference. At Grand Valley Speedway for example, someone in a car that drives like dog vomit is likely to lose control at the end of the main straight. You can make lots of adjustments to a car from just testing on the first part of the lap.

Also try tuning suspension on something like an RX7 with about 350 horsepower and sports soft or sports medium tyres.

That would make sense, since I'm not very good yet I'm probably not pushing the cars to their limits, will hopefully become more apparent once I learn a few of the tracks.

I'll lurk around and read a few more guides while my B spec earns some kash

Have a crack with this method, the method is designed to illustrate the effects of tuning as you go: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=203324

(the dampers section is a bit...ummm... useless, but 2 drivers can test the same damper settings change and have completely different opinions on what effect it has. So you have to find your own truths for this! Plenty of food for thought if you search this form though)
