Yeah, the video is gone, and it has been replaced with a new shorter video.
here's a few intresting things about the Suzuka video that was pulled just a bit ago:

-The sounds sucked compared to what many people sweared were awsome in the German convention.
-On the video you could see that the cockpit shadows looked a lot less pixelated than in earlier builds.
-Gamespot has hands on impressions of the playable TGS build, and claimed that the mirrors in that demo now work as they should, reflecting evrything behind you as it should. This is somehting NOT found in that Suzuka video that was just pulled.

So, intresting facts eh? hopefully the sounds of that Suzuka replay are from some old build, that somehow did have the improved shadows but used old sounds, and of course definitly didn't have the mirrors working as they are on the TGS show.
So, from the looks of things that Suzuka video was made from a somewhat old build that didn't have some of the features the latest ones have.

All we can do is wait for videos from the floor with the TV sound up to see if the sounds are any better, and to see if the mirrors work as gamespot reports them.

Wow that's interesting, as it was just posted last night (i posted it in the main GT5p thread). Well, yes with the sounds, we can only hope that they've improved, and i can't wait to see the look of the current build at TGS with the actual reflecting mirrors and what not. Time will tell 👍

I saw that video last night also and was highly disappointed with the sounds of the game. I was seriously thinking "it's a prettier GT4" the whole time I was watching the video.

One thing I really hope they'll do in the final product with the rear view mirror is have it also reflect the back interior of the car like in real life. Sure, it'll hinder what we're able to see who is behind us (more in certain cars than others) but that's what happens with the rear view mirror in real life so I think it should be the same way in GT5. Also, more cowbell!

What kind of car do you drive? In my rearview mirror, all I see is behind me.. unless it's improperly adjusted, I can't see any of the interior at all.

As for the video.. I agree, really crappy sound. But I think it's safe to say it's an older build... if you look carefully, you'll see it still has the "Atari 2600" rearview mirror, which has clearly been fixed in the TGS demo.

Ummm...what kind of car do YOU drive?:dunce: I have a 2000 Honda Prelude SH and I can see the rear pillars, top of the back seats, the pack part where the 3rd brake light should be (forgot what it's called) and my spoiler (no it's not a huge downforce spoiler...just a stock spoiler). I've also been in hundreds if not thousands of different makes and models of cars and everyone of them, you can see a little bit of the rear interior and the spoiler of the car if it has one. I've also been in a 360 Modena and you can see even more due to the mid engine configuration.

Reason why I've driven so many different cars is because I have worked in 4 different dealerships ever since my High School days and was a Mechanic at Honda for 3 years. All rear view mirrors were properly adjusted. You must have some special zoomed rear view mirror or something.

Mazda 3 sedan. I took a careful look this morning, and all I can see are the very VERY tops of the rear seats. But it limits my view precisely zero.. which is not what you were describing. I suppose you want the side mirrors to display the side of the car "just like real life"?

You're nitpicking.

Properly adjusted side mirrors shouldn't show the sides of the car unless you're leaning way left or right, anyway.

So you had to jump into your car and look careful because you doubted yourself, didn't you? So what if I'm nitpicking? If you don't like it then don't read or reply to my post. I'm a perfectionist, I want extreme realism. Is there a problem with that? Is my suggestion going to change anything in the game? No! I was merely suggesting it.

So you didn't see any of the back part of the wagon at all besides the "very VERY top" part of the rear seats huh? It's funny because I've driven in a Mazda3 sedan before with the rear view mirror properly adjusted and I can see more than just the "very VERY top" of the rear seats. Nice try, though.:sly:

All depends on the car, although I won't be too fussed if they leave it out of the rear view mirror (they still have details if you actually "look behind" anyway I think).

Oh, for sure. I was merely stating my opinion on what "I" think would make the cockpit view even more realistic. It's not like I'm going to NOT buy the game if the rear view mirror doesn't realistically reflects everything that it should like in real life. Although it would be nice to be as realistic as possible. What I hated the most in GT4 was the rear view mirror showing the car being wayyyyyy back but in reality, the car was right behind you. haha

"Objects in mirror may be closer then they appear":D

That's not in the rear view mirror though, it's only on the right lateral mirror that you get that effect, because the mirror is different. (it has to be, otherwise you wouldn't be able to see much from that far.)

I know, I just said it because what he said reminded me of that little disclaimer in the mirror.

Just for a point of reference, the mirrors as well as the lights on the cars in Forza 2 behave as if the car is invisible. In other words, the mirrors reflect as if the car isn't there, and the lights glow from sunlight even when in the shadow of the car.

What I'll be looking to see is if the cars reflect each other's images in their sides. I think only a very few PC games do this. It won't really matter, but the more realistic cues you put in your game, the more immersive and lifelike it seems.

Sure, all that is good. Whats gonna make this game have lots of replay value among the really hardcore SIM fans is going to be the advanced physics option in my opinion, they get that right and any visual deficiencies become moot to me at this point, the demo should be an awsome indicator of just how real PD can make a simulation.

I agree, but I don't think they're at that point yet. I haven't seen it in any of the videos so far, and I noticed that in the garage view, the pit crew isn't reflected in the car (nor do they seem to cast shadows). The shadow thing might be fixed, but I think real-time reflections like that are a bear to get working because of the extra power required. A basic environmental reflection map like they've used since GT3 is much easier on the system.

Yep. However, I believe GT5:P DOES have this feature. I remember seeing a screen that had it. Sorry though, can't find it :(
