Hi guys,
I'm really nervous to make a thread here in the member's ride section, but by popular demand, I decided to create one. I don't even know if this car deserves its own thread, but please do give her a chance :nervous:

Now, as some of you know, I had a 2008 BMW 328i. Yeah...long story short, it had too many issues. So, I traded it in for this beauty. (Got my mom to help me as well).

I was originally planning on purchasing an E36 M3 convertible myself...but that car didn't check out at the pre-purchase inspection.

2010 BMW 328i (FULLY LOADED, everything on it. M-sports package, everything.) It has every single option BMW has to offer. Her color is Le Mans Blue.

Firstly, proof it's mine? Check the license plate.

Here is a picture of her front.

I'll take some interior pics tomorrow. How you guys like her? Her name is Phoebe (;

Oh hey, I didn't know they facelifted the taillights on the E90 to more resemble the E92; that looks good. E90s are nice. :) 👍

So you're telling me you're 16/17 and own a $60k BMW?

It's not 60k. If you read the thread properly, you would have seen that it said the car was a 2010. Last time I checked, we are in the year 2013.

It was 25,000. It's used, not new. (: but thank you for your post, and thank you all(:

Looks great, but £16,000 is a hell of a lot to be spending on your first car. Have you taken into account the cost to insure etc? The majority of first cars over here cost less than £5000. You're lucky, so look after that car!

3 years isn't old and it'll barely have been used ;) Hydro boys know what I mean.

One question is it really expensive for car repairs? I was thinking of getting a 1994 BMW 7 Serie(E32). I heard BMW is unreliable in general.

And nice car.

His car is probably still warrantied and certainly quite different from an E32. I can tell you that an E32 is certainly not cheap to maintain/repair but there are a lot of factors to consider. Your best bet is to research what the common issues are and prices of replacement parts. The other important aspect is how clean you want it or if it doesn't really bother you to have some broken/worn parts.

TL/DR: BMWs are as reliable as other comparably complicated cars or sometimes better but not cheap to maintain.

This is a good way to put it.

BMWs are reliable, but parts are expensive and you'll empty your pockets trying to fix every little niggly thing, particularly on an old 7-series. A well-kept, relatively simple 3-series is a better option for anyone who has to ask how expensive they are.

Thank you all(:

But yeah, BMW's are very reliable if well taken care of. Parts are expensive, yes, but the older the car, the more money you have to pay for every nitty gritty thing.

Wow, can't believe those are the wheels the M-Sport package came with on that year. Upgrade to some Style 193Ms or 225Ms. Look a lot better. 👍

Will do...when I get the money

But, for now, I like those rims (:

Congrats. Nice BMW. Be kind to it and you'll have many miles of happy motoring.

Yup, my experience is that when things are working, they work very well, but when things break, parts are expensive, and jobs can get complicated fairly quickly. BMWs also do best with good preventative maintenance; it doesn't do well with chugging along with half the stuff broken on it.

In short, I own a BMW, and I wouldn't buy a E32. Not while still in high school, no way.

By the way, I love the E90s. I have and E46 wagon with the sports package, and it will be having a LS1 taking the 2.5 place. ;-)

You are quite right... preventative maintenance is a must with these cars, and that does not always go so well when in highschool.

Repair cost can be high, if you have a shop do the work, because BMWs have a tendency to eat hours of labor, and LIST cost of parts are so high. However, if you have the knowledge and resources to work on them yourself, theyre not much worse than a Honda.

I just did the COMPLETE cooling system on my wife's E46 325, and it cost me $300. That means new water pump, hoses, thermostat, surge tank, coolant and the radiator, all brand new OEM BMW. Not too bad if you ask me, especially considering that it would cost between $1,500 and $2,000 to have a shop do it. And i did it in three hours....

Nice car but the grille gets a thumbs down from me sorry.

Is the E90 328 four a six cylinder? The F30 is a four pot but I'm not sure about E90 LCI.

Ahh, I guess one man's trash is another man's treasure! :) 👍

It is indeed a 3.0 inline 6, a very smooth engine indeed! As a matter of fact, Road and Track actually voted the E90 328i being better over the F30 328i overall for driving enthusiasts!

EDIT: I can tell from the link in your signature that you're a fan of the chrome grills!
