hey

U guys n girls every tried synchronised drifting?

Me and my sister drift together all teh time..
ill try and get some videos posted as soon as possible..

It looks soo mad in the replays :D
hehe
for your interest, i drift a R34 and she Drifts a Supra..
both have high speed drift setups as the GTR has 1072HP
and the supra has 1080HP.

best corners to synchronise drift would be for me;
Tokyo the big U-turn
SSroute 5 the tunnel

well practically anywhere long and swooping..

try it some time... its great fun :D
the worst is stuffing up lolz..
u just go sliding into each other and then... the walls lolz

I've dragged a friend or two along to do some twin-drifting in Gran Turismo 3, but more often than not, one of us stuffs it up and we crash.

Probably because we're trying to fiddle about and not crash so much that our drifts are terrible, due to my TV not being that great for split-screen :P

Ugh, I try to twin drift, but my stupid friends are grippers..so they tend to just go past me and not even try. At this point I smack'em upside the head..

same here...but my friendz hav a weird style of drifting that makes them slide through the corner and lose a ton of speed so i end up running into them or they get left behind....

 I'm sure if I give one of my friends a concusion they'll drift fine, its just they want lap times, not fun.

I can't drift split-screen, I don't know why... I think cars behave differently in split-screen or something. I tried a few times and just gave up. I also rely on being able to hear the tires, and I also drive manual so hearing the engine is important too.

yes it's very hard to drift split screen IMHO. i cant hear the revs of the car. and i can drift. but when GT4 comes out that will be a big thing i think

I want GT4 to come out soooon! I need more cars!! :banghead: :banghead: Online drifting meets are going to rule..I mean completly own..and own harshly, they will..

My cousin can drift pretty well for not really caring to or wanting too. I always try to get him to drift with me but he doesn't really care to.

 I know like 2 out of 8 cousins of mine, and they all live why out in the middle of nowhere..Hillbillys I think you would call them. Hard headed about anything but old cars. :yuck:

i tried drifting in split screen and gave up, but the last time I tried to drift in it I realized something. The perspective thats given to you is very different from full screen. Its almost like looking at a round mirror where distances are distorted. Thats why its really hard to drift in split screen cuz we can't judge the distances and timings of starting drifts.

my cousin and i twin drift supras, its pretty kool, but i wish he would drift something besides that, i havent gotten him to use other cars yet. All of my friends think drifting in video games is kool to watch when i do it, but hate doin it themselves cause they suck at it. I want someone to do real twin drifting with:(

o yea another thing, i hope that gt4 online isnt like auto modelista online, inwhich the drivers that u race lag, even tho its a broadband only game. like if the car in front of u is faster, it doesnt gradually pull away, it almost skips in frames:irked:

hey me and akina did twin drifting videos and twin drift FF cars, its fun i'l post the video soon, this time its going to be very close to each other, so get ready to see, but i dont expected to be here shortly, because it takes a lot of times and its hard because we have different style!!

I can't remember how long ago I suggested two drifters get together with an I-link and have one drift, while the other follows. Then make a movie from the rear car's perpsective.

Of course, you'd have to have a good driver in the rear car.

hey do you live in cali too, what kind of asian are you, are you chinese, just asking because im Hmong, so same here too, everyone that relates to me, they are into drag racing when i watch drifting they just say whats so good about it, but now they're into drifting now so its good, plus imma get a 240 so hope i find a cheap one!!!!!!!!!

i live in richardson, texas, basically dallas. I USED to live in Long Beach but stuck here. I'm cambodian, ur getting a 240!? I wish i could own one. theres no craze over drifting here, kinda cool and bad at same time. Cuz most of drifters you meet are pretty good and you don't see a buncha wannabes, then there are rare drift meets around here

for ILink connection all you need is two (2) Playstation 2's (2) televisions and an ILink cable or do i need a special hub or something? i am really interested if you cant answer please direct to someone that knows thank you

I can't specifically recall at the moment, as I'm not certain you need a hub for just two.

But you are correct on the rest of it. 2 PS2's, 2 TV's, and cables.

Good luck, I'm looking forward to seeing a really well coreographed video.

You're right, the cars do behave differently. My roommate and my good friend are both skilled drifters and we have tried team drifting on several occasions since GT3 came out. I can't quite put my finger on it but the cars are much harder to drift precisely in 2-player mode. One of my theories is the PS2 can't handle the graphics and controller inputs of two players, and so the PS2 picks up fewer controller input cycles for a given period of time. It's unfortunate GT3 is this way.

We have even tried the vertical split screen on my widescreen 43" TV but haven't had luck that way either - which is why I think it has something to do with the controller interfacing with the PS2. Or perhaps the in-game physics model is simplified in 2-player mode to allow the PS2 to keep up.

hey what happens if you used two tv and two ps2, does it makes any difference than split screen, me and akina tries to do twin drift, its difficult, you see our videos i posted last time, it was very difficult to drift, especially drifting with super soft, when we race, its like different, we cant make our time as fast as the free runs, but now i can make 1:20 on my 22B and akina can make 1:19 the fastest time i see with his Trueno SS no cheats, we dont have sharkport, but thats like first time on split screen, but its hard and the car does change a lot from easy driving, to hard driving!!!!!!!

For connecting two PS2's together with two TV's and two copies of GT3 you just need a 4-4 pin I-link cable and no hub. If you want to connect anymore than 2 PS2's together, you need another TV and copy of GT3 for each system and then 4-6 pin connectors as well as a 6 port 6-pin hub.
