T-GT wheel

I don't think it works because it also has many special buttons that probably only work together with the T-GT base. Of course you can attach the steering wheel to the T300 base mechanically... I would have liked to test this for you, but I only have the T-GT package and no other Thrustmaster base.

I don't see the problem - after all you can hook up e.g. an F1 rim and access its dials and buttons which will differ greatly from any standard rim. Pretty sure it's all in the software. If you are on console like me then you will be limited by the support within the game though. E.g. the T-GT dual thumbsticks and the four big dials don't work in games like Driveclub. Other buttons do though.

I could actually test this - Let me know if it's still a concern and I'll unpack my T300 and mount the T-GT wheel onto it. Console-only though, I'm not set up to play on PC.

Ok, just tried the following: T-GT II wheel on T300 wheelbase (PS-compatible Ferrari Alcantara edition). No pedals connected for this test which I don't think will influence the result. None of the wheelbuttons seem to be recognized, most notably the PS-button won't work so the controller can not be used on the console at all.

Looks like whiskeypit was right however it's possible there's a firmware conflict in my case since the T300 has a pretty old one installed from long before the T-GT II's release.
