My laptop is getting to the point where I'm ready for an upgrade, but I don't really see a point to getting a laptop again. I'm thinking a good tablet will suit my needs just fine as long as I can install Citrix on it (which I know I can do on both iOS and Android) to run some of my work applications. I've been looking at the Google Nexus 10, but I'm not really sure what else it out there besides an iPad which I don't really want. I've seen the Windows Surface too, but I don't know anything about it.

I'll be running work programs on it, plus doing a bit of word processing (I'll get a Bluetooth keyboard too), e-mails, a few games now and then and watching Netflix. Nothing that I can see buying a laptop for.

My budget is probably $400-$500 and ideally I'd like to have around a 10" screen.

Thanks in advance!

A few weeks ago I was doing some research into tablets for work. For a reason that wasn't disclosed, my boss requested no iPads. Regardless, I added them to my list anyway, but my personal choice was the Nexus 10. It is able to open PDFs, Word, Excel and, through AutoCAD WS, can open our floor plan files, complete with dimensioning. 👍

Bonus, it also supports Bluetooth mice, which the iPad doesn't. Both have Bluetooth keyboards available, obviously.

Google Nexus 10, for me its all about the display, and the beautiful 2560 X 1600 display is what would sell it for me. It has a higher pixel density than the iPad 3 and 4. I don't care if it has no SD card slot, no 3/4g option or non removable battery...it's got that display! Yes I'm a big display snob :)

The upcoming 10 inch Samsung Galaxy tab 3 is also going to be 2560 X 1600 so maybe wait a while and see.

I'd say the Samsung Note 10.1 personally for the fact it has removable storage unlike the Nexus 10.

Thanks for the input guys. I think I am going to end up with a Nexus 10, I just need to hunt around the Internet and see if I can find a deal on one.

Give the Google Play Store a go. I think they have the Nexus 10 in stock. 👍
