Taking a break: Waiting for next gen

I bought everything at full price, plus all DLC. I want to support the developer 100%. I haven’t played the game in several months now, since I am waiting for the PS5 upgrade. I miss the game a lot, but I want it to feel fresh when the significant upgrade arrives. My only gripe is the car count is only 24. Other than that, this is my most anticipated game of 2022.

I've slowly been playing less and less of late also, and agree about the car count. It could he higher indeed.

Even though I'm massively looking forward to the next gen release I'm also concerned about bugs and other general annoyances. They need to nail it. They need to make sure simple things like rolling starts are fixed, as that is still a big problem on multiple tracks.
Plus it's a different studio porting the game so who knows what issues that might bring?

Cautiously optimistic.

I have been waiting to buy ACC since I have found out they have a next gen update coming. I have been waiting since I got my PS5 to have a racing game that would take advantage of the PS5. I guess I can get F1 2021 but I think I am waiting for the price to go down on it

I wish Kunos would release some more information, not just the carrot that they gave us a few months ago.
I'm sure they know what's happening so why not tell us more?

Indeed, I've only played a few hours and have encountered quite a few bugs.

Also, there're heaps of grammatical and typographical errors in the info pane when you click on various parameter-adjustment tabs.

Say what you like about Gran Turismo, but since day dot they've nailed such details, no mean feat for a Japanese company. Consistently-polished.

That makes me a little bit worried when they release the update. I guess I will wait a bit before I decide to buy this for the PS5

Shame Gran Turismo couldn't nail the handling
The games aren't focused to same kind of players.

GT is a real controller friendly game suited for al kind of players.

ACC is "hardcore" SIM focused to a "niche" base of players that looks for accurate simulation

GT will never "nail" or "match" the handling/physics of an AC game or other "pure" SIM, cause that's not what they looking for.

Taking into consideration that PS5 doesn’t have any proper nextgen racing games (F1 2021 doesn’t look nextgen at all to me, as its the same as F1 2020 on PS4) I’m also eagerly waiting for the PS5 upgrade to enjoy the ACC not only as a sim racer but also be more visually pleasing, those rear view mirrors and displays (bentley) making me puke. Not even talking about frame rate drops from 30 to 15 or less when having traffic even on PS5. Haven’t touched the game in a while, even though have bought all DLCs.

As already mentioned GTSport is great graphics wise, but lacks the simulation aspect, although I admit it is very enjoyable game, if only it had ACC physics.

Wishful thinking but would love them to include to ACC VR support or at least do the thing that death stranding did and support ultra wide monitors, good they are at least adding FOV adjustments.

Today was announced TM SF1000 addon native support for telemetry on LCD display for PC, but no word for console support, hopefully it comes with PS5 upgrade. TM BT LED support will also be welcome to add more immersion.

I understand that proper sim racers have PCs, I’m a casual one though and do it for pleasure on a console without hard core dedication to mastering each corner entry and exit strategies with perfect tyre pressures at that. But still would love the developer to show some love to console peasants.

Other thing that won’t ever happen but could be a blast is to add Green Hell, even as a standalone DLC. I’d be willing to pay for it up to 20€ just for a single race track. I like to do some laps after work to release some stress.

So yeah 22.02.22 can’t come soon enough. I personally anticipate it even more than GT7!

I absolutely agree 100% about Green Hell.

Its missing is by far my biggest complaint about the sim. If it were there I'd surely spend most of my ACC time on it.

It was in the original AC so there would be no need of Paid DLC. You could always buy the original game and have the other tracks as well.

I have driven the track for real and the game represents it very well IMHO except nothing compares to how bumpy in real life the Carousel actually is ;-)

I've been playing it on PS5 for a year now and can't say I've ever had frame drops that far below 60fps. Did you mean PS4? because yes, there was some awful performance there. It's night and day on PS5, frame rate wise.
I'm hoping the next gen version increases fidelity all round.

PS4 was total disaster framerate wise. PS5 I do also have occassional framerate drops, especially when cars are pitting its very noticeable.

Ever since they released the British GT pack I get micro stutters every now and then, which are really annoying. I'm sure they weren't there before.
Really hoping the new studio doing the next gen port get parity with the PC version, and get it running better than D3T ever did.

I’m afraid consoles will never get the same love PCs get, but at least they could do it enjoyable, PS5 and XBox are powerfull enough to achieve those levels I suppose, Driveclub is a perfect example stable 30 FPS and absolute beauty at that, I call it a rain simulation racing game 😀 looks absolutely insane!
