what kind of settings are you guys using to make this thing drivable? fully upgraded it just seems like its too much power for its own good, the thing is a total ***** to drive no matter what i try.

help :dunce:

Tuned down a bit and its a good car, the shift lag is alittle anoying, I have mine with stage 1 engine upgrade and I put a wing on maxed out the downforce and it does ok. I did not touch the suspention it fells like it is giving me all it has with the set up in it stock.

With my Cien I have no problems the only things I have done is lower the ride height a little. It runs like a champ. I love using it on the italian rally stages.

oh my god. i hate the shift lag

why can't you buy triple plate clutch?
i love how it looks and i love how fast it goes...

but i get smoked when im shifting from 1 to 2.. BIG LAG.

i think it is a very driveable car even fully tuned, , i would like to get some less lag and shaking but other than that way better at 970hp than the speed 12 at 1042hp os so

Don't have it yet, so I don't know, but a guy on another forum claims he beat the Chaparral 2J vacuum car on Seattle in the American Championship with a Cien. That seems unlikely to me.

Is he bullsh**ting us, or is this possible?

This car handles great. if you shorten the gear ratio between first and second gears it wont lag as much. and lengthening the final gear ratio will increase top speed. buy hard racing tires, and lower the ride height

the car is incredibly fast (especially with stage 3), and handles great. The only handling changes I made were the first gear, raising the downforce on the front so it would stop popping wheelies, and lowered the ride height half a cm.

with stage 3 it trivializes the all american championship. For some reason I thought this race would be a lot harder and overdid it a bit on the power.

I'm trying it in the American race now, and I am catching a ton of air on the triple uphill section on Seattle. I tried raising the ride height and dropping the spring rate so it wouldn't bounce so much going up that hill, but it seems worse now. :grumpy: I'll set it back to the default. I've got downforce set to the max, front and rear. How have other people solved that problem? It's also pretty skittish when cornering at high speeds, it's bouncing a bit, but that's not a big deal really.
I'm pretty sure I can win the series with the stock Cien (ok, to be honest I did the stage 1 weight reduction and bought R3 tires), if the Chapparal isn't in the line up.

I bought R3 tires, a supercharger and stage 2 weight reduction, then I lowered the Cien's ride height about 45%, and put some downforce on the front end so it handled enough to my liking. It was the first time I've ever done any custom tweaking without reading someone else's numbers, but I got the car to handle enough to my liking to finally beat the All American Race, although I most likely committed multiple tuning sins.

I particularly don't like this car, it looks like a stupid space ship and i think its just one to stay away from.

I noticed, like others the shift lagg, can take a while to build up, or in some cases, red lines straight away and doesn't change gear.

On the PS2 pad, the easiest way to accelerate is by using the X button, but if you try using the right analogoue stick then you will notice a difference.

Don't push it straight up, tilt it slightly and the car will get much better acceleration and gradually build it up until you can change back to the X button.

Kev.

yeah its possible, the chapparal 2j race car (it looks like half a car to me) has 3 gears and a top speed of 350 km/h which makes it accelerate incredibly slowly for a 700hp car

The Cien p*ssed me off in the big leauge races. It was a good car to easily win races. I liked it at first, giving it a racing wing since it was a pure racer. But when it came to the bigtime America racing series, this car p*seed me the hell off. Tune it as much as you like, it won't give you anything when you sell it. Waste of a car if you ask me. You're lucky you could blow out the competition against Honda Beats at Motorland with it.

It's basically a streetcar with a big motor, alright handling, but won't help you win the big races. I was actually disappointed with it, not to mention I'm not a real big Cadillac fan. I'm sure with all that power and performance, it could at least put a Panoz Esperante on the trailer heading back to Georgia.

So any modifications to make it a pure race car would be certainly welcome. Just look for springs, maybe a few engine upgrades, grippy tires would also work, just about anything you can do to make it a pure race car than your average concept car would make this machine shine.

set up the CEIN '02 as follows

Supercharger
All engine work (not NA tune)
All body work (lighten etc)
Professional gear/suspension/differential/brake

Turn off all computer assisted drive features
(you may want to keep traction control if you are not comfortable with the proportional accelerator/brake combination)

*remember - dont just jump on the go peddle, a smooth, no traction loss start is what we are aiming for. You can achieve a quicker start with no computer assist.

FRONT REAR
Brake Control 12 12
Spring Rate 13.6 15.1
Ride Height 72 75
Bounce 6 8
Rebound 8 10
Camber 61 69
Toe 4 -4
Stabiliser 6 7

1st 3.908
2nd 2.747
3rd 2.058
4th 1.612
5th 1.320
6th 1.130
final 3.444

LSD initial=05
accleration=30
