How many people here listen to the genre of "Club" music and all it's sub-genre's? I know, it's jsut beats, but it's some good music. Especially to dance too.

Here, but it's not the only type of music i like. I think Club music is best out of all three. :)

Here here for drum and bass; experimental electronic music is also a hit with me. Jungle, house, breakbeat-style is okay too. Some trance is tolerable, but a whole album gets to be too much. It's physically draining to listen to. The dancey-fashion-runway crap played on radio stations is uncreative and disposable.

I think electronic music in its many forms gets dissed because listeners need lyrics or they're unhappy. Jeez, did Beethoven and Mozart need lyrics?

Totally. I'm well into house/trance, but the wife just says "but it's got no words".

This from the girl who sings all the time round the house, but never gets the words right! Arrgh! Sugar Candy Pop: hate it!

(unless I'm veh veh drunk!)

Yeah, I rather like techno, but ever hear those stupid club re-mixes?

"She-she-she-she-she-she-she-she-she-she-she-she-she-she-she-she-she's got the beat. yes yes yes yes, etc."

very annoying.

one day, everyone will listen to drum'n'bass.

If it hadn't have been for DJ Patifee coming over from Brazil, UK d'n'b would have been dead and buried. Patifee put some much needed life into d'n'b.

Sweet collection tho.
You're missing some classics though.

There's some class Ganja Kru mixes you need, and what about DJ Rap? Ellis Dee? Roni Size? Krust? Die? The whole Reprazent team?

mildmatt, i got about 4 CD's worth of drum'n'bass mp3's, and on one of them is all the old-skool classics, all the stuff that realy got drum'n'bass going. the playlist that i show is that of the most recently downloaded stuff, and when that gets too big, i'll burn a CD and start again. never-ending circle.

Your science has proven ...that hard pounding music interferes ...with the brains ability to perform its higher functions efficiently.

But it serves OUR purpose, therefore is appreciated.

At the mo I'm listening to stuff like plone, nightmares on wax, plaid, savath and savalath, prefuse 73, boards of canada, company flow, anti-pop conspiracy, sweet exorcist, DJ Krush... mainly downtempo sorta stuff.

I hate it, because it's so repetitive, it's like a hammer gun in my head driving my brain out through my skulls orifices until the goo is draining like pus from the stump left by my dissolved head,
so I don't go in those clubs.

flip, i do see you point, but to the true clubber/raver, you notice every song, every riff, every single beat. and no, i'm not on drugs :D

i suppose it's all int he personal preference. i mean, i love my music to be as loud as possible, as hard as possible, and fast. with the exception of rock music, which can be any tempo.

but the point of dance music, underground especially, is to mix tracks, so it's one constant ride.

Holy Smokes, a clubber/raver not on drugs, somebody get this man some drugs, STAT! :D

If you like it , have it, that's what I say. Music, I'm talking about. ;)

I think we've overgeneralized on the generalities of the general subject of a generally generic genre.

Ah. Had me worrying there. :)

Dance music. S'all about having fun. Jumping about, bustin' a groove, having a ****ing good time. Spend an evening in the company of Mr. Lavelle. Top evening.

p.s. to those who get it. Went to Fabric recently, and John Peel was djing, and he played some seriously dark d'n'b stuff. The man is a god.

Hey, where can I find some of DJ Patifee's music? I have searched on Morpheus and WinMX and haven't found anything. Someone help me out with serach keys or something? Thanks. I'm getting intereseted in this drum and bass stuff.
