This could've gone into the 'what i wanna see in GT5' but i wanted to have everyone's opinion on this so i figured i'd make a specific post about it.

So, the idea is to have a way of sharing Telemetry, ghost and time markers information between users. Again, i have no idea how the PS3 will work 'online' but here's hoping they have something similar to the Xbox LIVE! system.

ANyways, the idea is to be able to send or receive telemetry information about another user, so that it is possible to compare data, and hopefully learn from it. The same way, the file could be one big lump of information containing Ghost, Telemetry and all relevant car informations, so that if a player wants, he could 'match' the data's perfectly and learn from it.

Lets say some of those crackheads on here do a super good time, it would be possible for us slackers and turtles to actually boot up the relevant file, and watch the pros in action, following them, watching their lines, and hopefully learn something instead of spending hours banging our heads on walls trying to understand why on turn x, we always hit the wall...

Another cool idea (taken from a 360 thread on another forum) was to be able to actually record our own voice to comment on something. In the case of GT5, that would also be very usefull. Do that perfect magic lap, load up the replay, record comments, zip it all up and send away for download.

Ultimatly, i think this would serve as a very good learning media, as well as a good communicative way of dealing with 'online' racing.

Oh yeah, another thing about this stuff... it'd be nice to be able to load more then 'one' ghost/telemetry at a time. It'd be fun to load up a bunch of them at the same time to compare.

Any thoughts?

Well it's a very nice idea, but as you said it depends on how Sony's online system will work. I fear this option will only be possible if there's one main server where all those data is stored, which everyone can access. That would probably mean paying a monthly fee for maintenance and all, something I'd rahter not do. It's that way for Xbox 360's PGR3, which has a similar function called Gotham TV (I think).

Now if you would be able to transfer such data to your pc (and why wouldn't it) it gives you more possibilties. A site like GTPlanet could make a database where users can upload their data and download other's (much like the replay video database now).

oh my part, i don't really mind paying montly for a system i would use often, if that system works well.

Xbox LIVE! was pretty good, and the 360's system is even better (from what we see at work so far anyways). Having the possibility of online friends, chats, Voice and Video... its pretty powerful.

IF Ps3 was able to do something similar...even if it doesn't... having a 'OS' system within GT5 would work as well. PD could easily run a server system themselves, with boards, ladders, contests, voice and video servers... the lot. I really think this is a way forward.
