Now, having just come back from an intensive training weekend on Dartmoor, I was wondering if I was the sole GTP'er to participate in this test of endurance, ever, or if there are others who are doing it this year or have done in the past.

For those not in the know, Ten Tors is a yearly event for teenagers in the South-West of England, which happens on Dartmoor. Effectively, the aim is to walk a given distance dependent on age group, which is either, 35, 45 or 55 miles in a day and a half, visiting a preset quota of ten tors along the way, hence the name. You carry everything you need with you, tent, food, clothes etc. Start on Saturday morning at 7:00 and finish by 17:00 on Sunday.

Basically, it's a lot of fun, and I was wondering if anyone else had ever done the event or is going to do it this year.

EDIT: Link may help a little in comprehension.

I've heard of hiking challenges and races where I live but nothing similar to what you're describing. Maybe some links or pictures for more information...?

It's slightly more difficult using the app, but here's a link to the website. http://events.exeter.ac.uk/tentors/
That should help a little. It's definitely a challenge, and not really supposed to be a race, but ends up being one.
