Today marks my 10 year anniversary on GTPlanet, and it’s been a fantastic journey. Like many others, I originally came and joined this forum for information on Gran Turismo, but I ended up staying for everything else here. I started on GTP trying to get more information on Gran Turismo 4 all these years ago, and that was what launched my time here.
A couple years before GT4, I had bought a PS2 and along with it Gran Turismo 3, and I loved it. It was one of my favorite games, so when rumors of GT4 started to swirl, I couldn’t be more excited. I stayed on here for a couple of years after the release of GT4 as I slowly progressed my way through the game, but eventually, my interest in the game itself waned and I stopped playing.
Soon after, I left GTP as I went to college and got busy, but I always remembered the community here. During my three year hiatus, I would peak on here every once in a while, to check up to see what’s going on with some of the old names, the hot topics being discussed on hand and to read the news and discussions about cars. I vowed to come back eventually, and now here I am.
In these past ten years, the forum has changed much, growing into now this giant online portal of all things Gran Turismo. There’s so much more to this forum than just GT though, there are the hundreds of different threads that span an extremely diverse set of interests and topics. Virtually anything is and can be covered; it’s really all these other topics that keep me here.
This forum has now become a significant part of my life, and has impacted me indelibly. Thank you to the friends that I have made on here. Thank you to all the familiar folks from whom I have learned and laugh. Thank you everyone who have in one way or another has made my stay here on GTPlanet enjoyable.
