Tetley's Super League

So I just watched Bradford get a right stuffing from Leeds Rhinos - As a Bulls supporter it didnt go down too well but Leeds outplayed Bradford in every discipline tonight.

Leeds will win the league this year Im certain of that but I'd still put my money on Bradford being quite high up in the play-offs, even (dare I say it) making it to Old Trafford ??

Wigan are on fire this season and so are Hull. Theres lots of obstacles in Bradford's way but Leeds vs Bradford grand final would be a real treat !!

Do you follow the Super League ?? What do you think of the season so far ?

i want to follow the super league, but its hard to follow it from australia. id say my fav team would have to be london, my dad is from london and my team is the Brisbane Broncos (same mascot)

Do you follow the NRL?

I watch it when I can but again its difficult for me to follow.

Paramatta and Cowboys always seem to be on TV when I watch it.

It is quite good as the matches air in the morning over here so I can watch them b4 g/f gets out of bed so she cant complain !!!

Big match for Bradford this monday, against Hull who are doing really really well this season.

WAIT!!! You see Cowboys games.....DAMN

Channel nine (national league broadcaster) never show the cowboys because theyre isolated and usually dont perform too well, which sucks because theyre my second fav team behind the broncos.

Bradford vs hull, both teams seem to be in good form, it'll make good viewing. While the broncos are against the south sydney rabbithoes tonight....expect a rabbit killing

I just watched first half of Melbourne Storm against another side that I cant remember. They have Kimmorley in their team.

Didnt get to watch the second half but the side playing at home were getting a can of whoop ass opened up on them !

Just got my replica Bulls away shirt this morning !!!

that would be the cronulla sharks, they used to be really good, no so anymore.

broncos got smacked around last night, not good just before the finals

Oh, And The North Queensland Cowboys Qualified For The Finals For The First Time In Their 10-year History. This Is Really Big News. Go The Cowboys

man i wish the super league was on over here. i heard that there was a good top-of-the-table clash on this weekend. wasnt it between wigan and leeds? how many aussies are in each team

the finals have been decided for the NRL
Game one - Penrith Panthers(finished 4th on table) vs St George/Illawarra Dragons(5th) at Penrith stadium, friday night - i dont care who wins

Game two - THE MIGHTY BRISBANE BRONCOS (3rd) vs Melbourne Storm (6th) at Lang Park, Saturday arvo. Im hoping to go to the game GO BRONCOS. THATS MY TEAM

Game three - Canterbury Bulldogs (2nd) vs North Queensland Cowboys (7th) at Tesltra Stadium, Saturday night, Go the Cowboys, beat the bulldogs!! (help give the broncos a week off)

Game four - Sydney Roosters (1st) vs Canberra Raiders (8th) at Aussie stadium, sunday arvo. go the raiders. there are 3 teams i hate, the roosters are top of this list, followed by the knights and bulldogs.

one big weekend of football coming up, i hope my team can pull it off, and i hope the cowboys win as well. GO THE BRONCOS.

I managed to catch the first half of the game between the roosters and ??. A good first half. Minichello is a damn good player.

Super League - You are right, Leeds vs Wigan a brilliant match that I thought wigan could have clinched as Leeds are getting tired at the wrong part of the season. Bradford Bulls on the other hand are just peaking a little bit, they hammered London Broncos and as Hull lost to Huddersfield (two Huddersfield tries in the last 4 minutes) that means Bradford are in 2nd spot and get a home advantage if they stay there till the season is up.

Match Report.
Castelford vs Salford.
Watched the whole game, some weird decisions by the ref and touch judges. Cas went 12-0 up but switched off in the last 15 seconds of the first "stanza" !! and let in a try. Then they went 18-12, then 18-18, then 18-24, it was agonising watching it as they are bottom and will probably go out into the National League this year. They scored a try late on to make it 22-24 but failed to convert meaning they lost. Salford weren't really as focused on winning and its a shame they did.

Bring on next week - I'll be watching from a bar in Tenerife !!!

watchin at a bar, no better way.

the roosters were playing the parramatta eels. and i hate minichello, he is a ****. mainly because the roosters are my most hated team.

if i cant get to the game on saturday, i plan to be at my local pub watchin it or at hoe on the couch with a 6-er of xxxx gold. im set either way. both my teams are playing on saturday, both must win games. its gonna be exciting

well, i just came back from suncorp stadium where my team, the belovered BRISBANE BRONCOS, lost to the bloody mrlbourne storm, bloody victorians. For the broncos to stay in the competition, the roosters must beat the raiders, which SHOULD happen.

but, the same could of been said for the bulldogs vs cowboys. bulldogs SHOULD of won, BUT DIDNT. THE COWBOYS RAN THEM DOWN. everyone was saying thaqt the cowboys would get smashed, not to be.

but, this sets up a fasinating equation. if the broncos are still in the competition (which should be the case), they will be against the COWBOYS. my 2 teams against eachother, both queensland teams vying for a spot in the preliminary finals. its my worst nightmare. from now on, my love affair with the cowboys for this season HAS COME TO A HALT. GO THE BRONCOS, RUN THEM INTO THE GROUND!!!!

Well its been a whole week without any rugby as Ive been on hoilday. I read or heard somewhere that Bradford won but it was only by one point, and Castleford won so its a toss up between them and Salford now for the drop !!

millencolin
roosters must beat the raiders, which SHOULD happen.

Did that happen ????

yeah, thankfully!!!!

the broncos up against the North Queensland Cowboys....IN NORTH QUEENSLAND!!! ****!!! its going to be a tough game. they are RUGBY LEAGUE CRAZY up there in north queensland, expect a hostile crowd. i think we can do it, even though my broncs have been playing like ****.

NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO THE BRONCOS LOST, WE ARE OUT OF THE COMPETITION. why?!?!?!? why god why

the cowboys are still in it, hopefully they can pull off an unbelieveable win against the sydney roosters, the favourites, the high class rollers, the rich boys from bondi beach.

the panthers are up against the bulldogs which should be a ripper of a game, its too close to call for me, but im going for the panthers. they are the reining premiers and i dont like the bulldogs

well...the roosters JUST JUST JUST (UNFAIRLY) beat the cowboys and the bulldogs smacked the panthers around for the grand final.

the GRAND FINAL was played last night between the two top teams in the competition, as well as my two most hated teams. it was a close, high pressure game, and it just rained before kickoff, so ball handeling was a bit on the down side. but it was a close game. in the end the result is:

THE CANTERBURY BULLDOGS ARE THE 2004 NRL PREMIERS!!!

which is a good result as its a religion in my household to despise the roosters!!!! i hate most of the players in the roosters as they are dirty richboys. one guy, luke ricketson, was complaining about his 3 weeks suspension when he cheap-shotted a cowboys player unprovoked, breaking his jaw and teeth. wanker!!

so congrats to the bulldogs....broncos better do better next year...cowboys are coming strong....and now all that is left is the tri-series

AUSTRALIA - NEW ZEALAND - GREAT BRITAIN

go the aussies!!!

MEH - I didnt get to watch the grand final but go Bulldogs !!

Here in the superleague Wakefield neraly pulled off a shock win against Wigan in a match that they played very very well in, their biggest downfall wasa discipline and they had a man sent off for a proff foul (it was a bit dubious though)
Leeds Rhinos and Bradford Bulls played on Saturday night - I went to see the match at Leeds. It was a Big win the the Bulls (YEAH !!) especially away from home. The referee hardly gave Bradford a decision and Leeds were shepherding, obstructing, and taking players out off the ball but we still came through to win.

So this weekend Wigan play Leeds for the final place at the grand final - Wigan have had so many tough matches and must be knackered, I hope they beat the Rhinos though because they'll be even more knackered for the final then !!!

So bring on the last couple of matches - then the UK vs AUS world champs match - then the Tri-Nations, which hopefully we'll win a game in this year !!!!

I really think we'll do it this year - We've had such a good standard of rugby and Mr Noble (the bardford coach) has loads of good players to pick from this time.

grat britain has certainly lifted their game over the last few odd years. there was some close games last year in the ashes series. but, unlike last year, we have a full selection on players for the tour. last year 22 players were unavailable.

i hope the games are close, but i got a feeling the kangaroos will serve out a wee bit of justice to great britian. Any team that has Darren Lockyer (best player in the world0 is bound to do good. if only gordan tallis was playing.......

but i think GB may have an edge over NZ. but never, and i mean NEVER underestimate the kiwis. they can play well, and they play brutally. the NZ warriors NRL club has made some massive tackles this season

Hopefully I'll be able to go see some of the games in the UK - they are being played fairly close to where I live.

So its a Leeds Rhinos vs Bradford Bulls grand final next week. Leeds beat Wigan last night, convincingly, Leeds were 22-0 up but they let Wigan back in it and they scored either side of half time to leave it 22-12. The Wigan players were absolutely knackered though, after their second half try it was all over for them.

20 posts between just 2 people !! More of you GTP'ers must follow the rugby league ??

I didnt think a new thread was warranted so I'll carry on with this one !

So here we are at the business end of the season. St Helens have won the league shield due to finishing top, that was a bit of a surprise for me, not that they haven't played well, its just that they have kind of sneaked up on the league and finished top. Leeds Rhinos have lost 4 games on the bounce, last time they did that it was in winter 1996 ! Hull FC have won the challenge up (like the FA cup in football) against Leeds, who everyone thought was going to win. Bradford Bulls though are showing their strength at the end of the season, they've just beaten Leeds last week, and have beaten Huddersfield just yesterday. They have signed Newcastle Knights player Adrian Morley, who can only do good things for them.

Andrew Johns for Warrington !!! What can I say, he did everything right on his debut, sometimes the signings amaze me when compared to football for example. Warrington have finished in the top 6 and I think the other teams need to keep an eye on them :sly:
