Due to you idiots, the courses have been changed multiple times now. And due to that, I have gone from 18th and within striking distance with the limited time I had left to put laps in this weekend, to 30th and pretty much out of time I can dedicate. I may not have made it anyway, but due to you numb nuts, that is almost a guarantee now. Way to go. So pissed.

I understand your pain even though these latest courses actually work to my strengths. Also having as much time this weekend as I need helps with whatever the courses are.

Maybe in the future we can get a update to enforce the penalty system and none of this would happen.

Don't hate the player, hate the game.

I am only .5 out of 16th. It is more of an issue of finding time to actually sit down and put in laps. And these courses definitely don't play to my strong points. The previous courses, however, did.

I'll see what I can do, El.

Same here. I was easily within the top 16 with the previous courses (and actually enjoyed practicing on them, too!) and now I'm struggling to get into the top 25. The past day and a half have been a fuming rage at my house.

Gonna go grab a beer. Or six. And just relax for a while. As it stands, I'm not getting into Round 3 with these times and at this pace, no amount of practice will help, so it can't hurt to take a break for a few hours.

I don't know where I'll end up in the rankings, but I would love to kill the guys that did this in the first place. I understand doing everything needed to win, but there has to be some morals that should stop somebody from resorting to cheating the system this bad. Thanks douchebags.

I think its hilarious actually. All round 1 the cry babies were complaining about lawn mowing and ethics and blah blah blah, and now that the officials have done something to cater to their needs now they cry about how they have fixed things. The way I see it its not the people who have been cutting the course that caused these changes, but the people who've been bitching since day one about cutting the course. It seems they got what they wanted.

Bottom line though, people should realize it doesnt matter what bounderies we place on any given track, the faster people will always be fastest. If its faster to cut the lawn at a certain turn and your lap time doesnt go red, then thats the fastest line. If you dont want to cut the grass because of ethics, then that means you dont want to take the fastest line and most likely you wont be posting the top times. Evidently cry babies are best are crying, not finding the fastest line...

I feel your pain. I've been able to put myself into the top ten on every track they've thrown at us until this madrid torture chamber showed up. All I can think about when I'm laying down endless 1'40.1xx is how much I hate that terrible track. First time I've doubted my chances to get into round 3 in over a month.

Terrible argument. Even Sony recognizes that grass cutting should make your lap red. In the end it is just bad coding. No one is being a "cry baby". I just say ban the people who were doing it in the first place.

Actually its a good arguement. Do you really think changing the rules, the course, the boundaries is going to change who the front runners are? Are you implying that had Cape Ring had better coding we would have seen a totally different list of people in round 2? Furthermore, do you think if Sony or whoever runs the contest could have made this round so perfect that no one would be complaining about how the front runners are driving? Maybe you didnt catch this part but, the faster drivers will always find the faster line, even if that means cutting the course. At that point, you can either a. cry, or b. drive the faster line. Its pretty simple.

But now that we have pages of complaints about cutting the course, it looks like they have fixed the problem by changing tracks. You've made your beds now lie in them.

It is an online competition. You have to assume that any advantage that can be taken will be taken. It is just the nature of the environment. It is futile to blame the players no matter how justified it might seem.

I think you're missing the point a little here couch. The cape complaints were more of a moral arguement that in real life you'd never drop a wheel in the grass at the apex of the corner and you'd never run wide 4 wheels off intentionally. At most the mowing at cape only affected who won steering wheels and playseats because it was only worth a couple tenths. Plenty of people moved into round 2, including me, without touching the grass at all.

The cutting at Indy was entirely different. It was worth up to 3 seconds, a huge margin on a 65 second track. It was also extremely blatant. You could argue at cape that the car pushed into the grass and then just kept going but at Indy they stopped 100' from the turn and made an abrupt dive into the grass to cut the overall corner by more than half. No question about intention, it was just cheating.

I haven't played the new tracks yet, and I might not till Sunday, but I'm pretty pissed at the amount of time I wasted. Indy/Toscana was a good setup for me and I was easily top 10 in the midwest. I finally got good times at Eifel and pulled myself up to 12th and then it got reset. Now, it'll probably be all I do Sunday instead of 8-10 hrs spread over the week and it'll total 20 something hours instead of just 10.

Sorry Spy. Hopefully you get a chance to put some laps in before tomorrow night. I know you are fast enough to make it to round 3.

I dont want to sound like I especially blame the complainers for these track changes, I just want to tease them as much as I can because, in reality, this is what they wanted, and now that they got what they wanted the're crying about GETTING THEIR WAY! When we see the top people posting the top times with driving lines that cut the grass we all have the choice of either using their line or going on GTP and complaining. I choose to use their line because genreally, complainers never win, but people who buck up and get wit hthe program do. The main culprit is the coding in the game, but we cant change that so theres no use crying about it. Whats the saying about lemons and lemonade?

You can only make lemonade if you have time to squeeze the lemons and it sounds like spy doesn't.

As for whining about getting their way - I don't think so. The complaints were about the blatant course cutting at Indy and that got fixed.

There were only a handful of posts about mowing at Eifel and NONE at Toscana. No big uprising, no protest, nothing...but they changed the tracks anyway. And not just Eifel but Toscana too. I can't recall anyone being upset with anything about Toscana other than turn 2 was challenging (which is really a good thing isn't it?)

I was 8th midwest with extra 0,760 sec from 16th before the change
Now Im 29th
Not so happy!

Its funny because when I heard monday one of the courses was Indy road course the first thing I thought was there was gunna be a huge wave of lawn mowers and what a stupid choice it was for the officials to pick that map because I knew how much grass there was in that track. I've actaully been sick all week and havent put in any times until this Saturday(so lucky me I supose). But what I've been saying is it doesnt matter how you justify things, between whats real and ingame, or whats ethical and what doesnt turn your lap time red, when you're in a contest for the fastest lap time you need to do what the top drivers are doing if you want to make it to the next round. Like I said, we all have the choice to drive their lines. So what if Indy gave you 3 seconds for cutting grass, we all have the option to cut the grass so its not like anyone has an unfair advantage. You cant call it cheating if you can do it too(with the exception of actually changing the coding or "hacking" the game). Now if someone was cutting grass and keeping a clear time were as everyone else would be getting a red time now that would be cheating because not everyone can do it.

No I'm sorry thats not the saying, and we still have over a day to squeeze these lemons so I think we've ran outa time ranting on GTP forums. Best get on that game and put in some times, which is what some people should have done in the first place.

I did. I put in the times. I just did a bit more. OMG, I hate Madrid. I think I am done. I might find some time tomorrow, but doubt it. Have to help on q friends rally car, and real rating comes first. Good luck to all my friends still in it.

Oh, and about hating the game, and not the player.... I have NO, issues hating the little pricks that screwed this round up. LOL.

To the guys that are now struggling to make it to round 3, I just want to say too smurfing bad. I am frustrated as hell as I was sitting #2 in the midwest without mowing any grass at Toscana or Eifel. I had plenty of time to find at Eifel. But everyone had to whine and they got what they wanted. Now these are the same people whining blaming this that and the other while forgetting that they are the ones in control of their own destiny.

Seriously quit the whining, Vermont and Wisconsin are running out of cheese.

I'm sorry, where was I whining before? Could you please point that out? Thanks. I think I have every right to vent. And that is all I am doing. If you have a problem with that, too bad. ;)

It appears it doesn't matter what track is used, people seem to use the game's flaws to their advantage. Currently the guy with the top overall time in the madrid course is using the wall at the last hairpin as a bumper. I'm really hoping there is going to be some kind of manual review/DQ system in place. This is very discouraging and becoming ridiculous.

DQing the indy cutters would have set a example to everyone. There is no reason for them not to bounce. The worst that will happen is a track reset. If they would have DQd, people would have been less likely to cut or bounce after that.

I can beat fix by bouncing off the wall, but I can't bring myself to do it... yet!

I aint liking the smell of this...

With this latest wall bouncing technique being used @ Madrid, I will be following the leaderboard VERY closely up until deadline...because the wall riding could very well mean the difference between advancing or having a once in a lifetime oppurtunity squashed. I would be fuming like a tea kettle if I were to get bumped out of the top 16, due to a few wall riding SOB (the ones who don't have enough skill to advance w/ clean technique) who put in last ditch effort to make it to Round 3

They oughta just DQ the people who are blatantly cheating and make a proper example of what won't be tolerated. I wouldn't want these type of mediocrely skilled, bone heads (who should be aware that such driving won't be tolerated...at least in this round) driving for my race team anyways

I complained about the first couple of cases at indy. that to me was beyond cape ring. I didn't like the second iteration of track they gave us. I'm ok with this one. but I was ok with eifel as well. honestly, they should've just dq'd the offenders at indy.
