Juventus
Demoted to Serie B. Juventus were also stripped of their last two titles and had 30 points deducted meaning that they are almost certain to stay down for two seasons.

AC Milan
AC Milan will stay in Serie A but will lose 15 points and will be kicked out of the Champions League.

Lazio
Demoted to Serie B. Lazio were penalised seven points.

Fiorentina
Demoted to Serie B. Fiorentina suffered a 12 point penalty.

This is about the sort of punishments I expected. I was quite sure Juve would go down and AC would get off relatively lightly.

Will Juve start next season on -30 points or have 30 points taken away at the end of the season? And what will happen to their superstars? I'm presuming they won't want to play in Serie B.

They have a contract... :ouch: again.

This is pretty funny, but also quite upsetting to see these once great teams have their names and reputations tainted with scandal forever.

Juve won't go bust, Juve are freakin rich. I bet their game attendance drops even more though, I mean for a top team they don't manage to fill their stadium in Seri A, so god knows what Seri B matches will be like.

I'm more annoyed that Lazio and Fiorentina are relegated. Although Lazio more, mainly due to Channel4's Football italia coverage and during the mid/late 90's when they had a fair bit of success. Fiorentina because they got into europe last season and I quite like the way they play, also Luca Toni was awesome.

I doubt the Premiership will see many firesale players, all the big names will bugger off to spain (or mainly real madrid) then the lesser players will end up at other Seri A clubs.

I suppose maybe Inter might be able to win the league this season with only Milan to contend with, but Milan will have less games to play with no Champions league football so they will probably end up winning the title again.

LOL. Maternazi. That's a new one.

That kind of sucks, though. I think this is all sabotage by Napoli. Hahahaha.

It's strange how Milan was involved but they didn't get relegated, I wonder if it had something to do with Mr Berlusconi? Or does he no longer have a stake in the club anymore.

AC Milan always lucks out. :grumpy:

If Juvy and Milan were relegated together, it would've at least kept the rivalry as something to look forward to.

I guess a lot of the big names will go. Word is with the loss of lots of players Juve might struggle to stay in Serie B.
They won't struggle to staty in Serie B, they just won't get back to Serie A for at least 1 season because 30 points is too much to make back.

But with a 30 point deduction and no players...

Serie C1, here they come...

They'll have players, if any of thier first team leaves (and not all will), they'll get plenty of money for them, and they can also bring players into their first team that they keep as well. The players arn't on free transfers, so even if they did leave, Juve still have plenty of money to buy the better players from Serie B. They might struggle to the lowe middle of the table next season, but I can't see them not having any decent lpayers left after all of this and they'd have to do very, very badly even with the 30 points taken away to not be out of relegation by the end of the season. Also I think AC Milan got away too lightly.

I don't think AC Milan were as deeply implicated in this mess as Juventus or the others. I'm not absolutely sure what the exact charges were against any of the teams but AC were never expected to get as heavy a punishment as the others.

Just because they wern't as involved, they were still involved, which should have left them in Serie B with no points deducted imo. Just being deducted 15 points from Serie A, they could be the champions again by the end of next season.

If I would be some of the proffesional players in Juventus I wouldn't waste my carrer in the Serie B.

BTW, did the player's know about it?

Is the guy who jumped off the roof onto the cars still alive?

if juventus has a good youth player building scheme they should be alright. Arsenal and man-u could probably be mid table players with theyre youth players.

As far as I know the players didn't know (or at least, allegedly didn't know). However, I think I remember reading that Gianluigi Buffon is soon to be charged for illegally betting on matches, although I assume that's a completely unrelated incident.

Is the guy who jumped off the roof onto the cars still alive?

If you mean Gianluca Pessotto (Juventus ex-player and now sporting director), he sustained "multiple fractures and internal bleeding" but should be fine.

Who was higher in SerieA Fiorentina or Lazio ?

If Lazio were healthier in pointage it has a chance of becoming a stronger team than it is now if the Club Spirit lasts through one Season. They play SerieB teams who will give them no quarter & if their line-up remains intact they could definitely say they'd earned their place in the top flight if they fight back & do'nt get bogged down in a rats & ship policy.
