I'm sorry I haven't made a thread any earlier. Well... what does your team need? The college football players who entered the NFL Draft are looking to get drafted so they can get their shine on in the pros.

What does your team need to draft for? Will their needs be met? What players are going to what teams? My Texans need some solid defensive players. Considering we're going to a 3-4 defense, I wonder how effective a 3-4 will be, and how the Texans hope to find a few good defenders to make the 3-4 effective.

Anyhow... NFL Combine under way. Your thoughts on this year's draft are surely welcome here.

Depends on where you're looking. This class is fat with Defensive ends, Off linemen and even a few skill players. Julio Jones out of OK is looking like the top receiver, Cam Newton looks like a lock for the first QB even with a so-so combine. Ryan Mallet actually had a brilliant combine, but there are still questions about his motivation. I don't know all the names yet, but I'm predicting alot of defensive ends and offensive linemen are taken in the opening of each round (after the top 10 are taken, which will be a mix of positions).

What is sucking right now is the CBA screwing up the player vs draft picks poker that goes on during the draft. Teams can trade draft picks straight up, but can't include any NFL players in the deals, which is the fun part.

Maybe after Mar 4 the CBA can get done so it doesn't screw up the real draft action. From my perspective, the reason no new CBA will be done prior to Mar 4 is because that deadline MUST pass for the old CBA to be void, plus it gets the paperwork out Minn Judge Doty's (sic) courtroom, which most all owners want because they're sick of him playing god in their bid'ness.

Julio Jones will be a gamebreaker. His perform would be worthy of a top 10 if he were 100%, but with a BROKEN FOOT, his stock will skyrocket

I'm struggling with the logic here. How does an injury help one's value increase?

Well the draft when from meh to good. Mike Pouncey, Daniel Thomas, and now Edmond Gates.

Daniel Thomas can be a franchise RB, or at least have the same success as Ronnie Brown. Edmond Gates is a speed demon and has the potential to achieve Mike Wallace-like greatness. He will at least blow the top off the defense and stretch the field to allow the running game and Brandon Marshall and Davone Bess to make plays. Davone Bess is going to have a huge year, watch.
