The 2nd Capri race

Hey

I'm new to GT4, I havent owned a GT game since the very first one. Only been on GT4 a few days but I'm really stuck on the 2nd capri race when the track is in reverse.

I've read that people say its easy, maybe I just suck but I have only ever managed to stay infront of the other car for about half a lap before him kicking me in the nuts. I won the first one, but not by much (he was right on my tail).

I'm driving a mitsibushi mirage, upgraded to 280BHP with the sports brakes and nitro. Surely I should be able to do it with that car? The tight bends seem to be the main thing, the car has slow turning and its hard taking the first 2 ir 3 hair-pin bends. Is there anything I can do to make the car steering a bit better?

If theres any advice you can give me it'd be appreciated.

Thanks

I'm guessing you are fairly early in the game and don't have much cash or many cars available yet (which is likely why you're trying to win the Capri Rally in the first place; to get cash). If that's the case, and if you have the International A license, use the Nismo 270R instead of the Mirage. If not, probably your best bet would be to invest in some R3 tires.

Edit: Okay, I somehow overlooked the first part of your post; yes you are just beginning the game. In any case I just tried that race myself with a 200 hp Mirage Cyborg and won rather easily, so your 280 hp car should be a walk in the park. The R3 tires will improve cornering dramatically, to answer your specific question, more so than any other upgrade.

Hey, thanks for replying

Yeah i got it eventually, i turned off the driving aids and that helped a LOT. I'm now sporting a 1000HP+ cadilac and a nicely tuned Aston Martin DB7 :dopey:

So many cars to choose from though! Hard to know which car to pick when buying when I only really know of the bigger makes. I havent heard of alot of the manufacturers that are in this game, a bit disappointed that Ferrari and Lambo's couldnt get featured in this one.

You guys should totally compile a guide on cars, like for price ranges and with good detail etc. Or has it already been done and I've just overlooked it?
